For teammates, WaveKit’s preferred core is Lynae with Mornye. These recommendations come from WaveKit’s Calcharo guide, reviewed for Version 3.5, so treat them as a starting point rather than a permanent ranking; the final section explains what that means for a current account.
How Calcharo plays
WaveKit classifies Calcharo as a five-star Electro Broadblade Main DPS. LootBar describes him in similar terms: an on-field carry whose biggest damage comes from Resonance Liberation and Death Messenger. In practice, that means he needs meaningful time on the field, and any support that buffs him or sets up his rotation has to leave room for his damage window to land.
Before committing to the full build, check three things on your account:
- You can keep Calcharo on the field for most of the Liberation window without a support swap interrupting it.
- You have enough Energy to fire Resonance Liberation when the rotation needs it.
- You are comfortable with timing-heavy attack strings. WaveKit rates the build as advanced and suggests bringing a healer while you learn.
Recommended build
Weapon
WaveKit names Lustrous Razor as the recommended weapon. Its listed alternatives are Verdant Summit, Autumntrace, and Aureate Zenith. Pocket Tactics (updated January 16, 2026) also recommends Lustrous Razor and lists Autumntrace and Verdant Summit as alternatives. Neither guide establishes that every alternative is equally available or equally strong on every account, so choose the weapon you can actually obtain and compare its CRIT, ATK, and Energy values against your rotation.

- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.

Echo set and Main Echo
Equip five pieces of Void Thunder and place Nightmare: Thundering Mephis in the active Main Echo slot. Prydwen’s Calcharo guide describes Void Thunder as giving 10% unconditional Electro DMG, plus up to 30% additional Electro DMG after the specified Heavy Attack or Resonance Skill sequence. It also notes that Nightmare: Thundering Mephis supplies unconditional Electro DMG and Liberation DMG boosts from the Main Echo slot. Prydwen does not state a date for these figures, so confirm them in-game on your Echo tooltips.
Echo cost pattern and main stats
Target a 4-3-3-1-1 layout:
- Four-cost Echo: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG.
- Both three-cost Echoes: Electro DMG where available. Prydwen prefers Electro DMG on the first three-cost and Electro DMG over ATK% on the second.
- Both one-cost Echoes: ATK%.
WaveKit advises completing the recommended Sonata before chasing perfect substats. A partially finished set with good main stats is more useful than a perfect substat roll on an incomplete set.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Substat targets
WaveKit gives rough targets for the finished build. It states plainly that these are practical targets, not hard requirements, and that your weapon, Sequence, team buffs, Echo rolls, and rotation can change them.
| Stat | WaveKit rough target | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| CRIT Rate | 60–80% | Target range for the finished build |
| CRIT DMG | 215–280% | Target range for the finished build |
| ATK | 1,800–2,300 | Target range for the finished build |
| Energy Regen | 120–160% | Depends on the team and rotation |
| Electro DMG | 40–70% | Target range for the finished build |
Prydwen’s priority order differs slightly. It puts enough Energy Regen for your team and rotation first, then CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, then ATK%, then Liberation DMG. If your rotation stalls for lack of Energy, fix Energy Regen before chasing more crit.
Rank #3

Skill priority
- Forte Circuit
- Resonance Liberation
- Resonance Skill
- Intro Skill
WaveKit gives this order. Prydwen places Forte Circuit and Liberation first as well, followed by Resonance Skill, Intro Skill, and Basic Attack. LootBar explains that Liberation and Forte are tied to the enhanced attack string and to Death Messenger damage, which is why they come first.
Teams
Team advice depends heavily on which characters you own, so the table below lists the routes the guides support rather than a single universal ranking.

| Team route | Lineup | Source and role |
|---|---|---|
| Preferred modern buff core | Calcharo / Lynae / Mornye | WaveKit’s top recommendation. Lynae sets up the buffs and Mornye completes the support role. |
| Alternative sustain | Calcharo / Lynae / Shorekeeper | WaveKit’s second-listed team. Useful when Shorekeeper is the sustain you own or prefer. |
| Electro setup | Calcharo / Yinlin / Shorekeeper | Listed as another strong team by WaveKit. |
| Other compatible support | Calcharo / Yinlin / Verina | Listed by Pocket Tactics as a viable option, not a top-ranked team. |
When choosing between them, compare four things: which characters you already own, how much setup or buff value the support provides, how much sustain the team has, and whether Calcharo can stay on the field through his damage window without the rotation breaking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Rotation and execution
Calcharo builds resources before Liberation, then uses the Liberation window to land Death Messenger attacks. The two approaches below both follow that pattern; they differ in speed and in how hard they are to execute.
Best Value
- Multi-Platform PC Gaming Controller: Working with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices via Bluetooth, wired, and wireless dongle connections.
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Delivering enhanced recentering performance for smoother control and superior anti-drift capability. Plus, with anti-friction rings.
- 2-Way Trigger Lock: With trigger stops, gamers can toggle between short and long pull positions. Additionally, gamers can activate hair trigger mode by pressing M+LT/RT (triggers must be in the long pull position).
- 1000Hz Polling Rate: This ensures that your inputs are registered almost instantaneously, minimizing lag and maximizing your performance during competitive play.
- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
Optimized sequence
Prydwen’s optimized sequence uses Echo and Intro skills before Ultimate, then alternates short enhanced attack strings with dash cancels to reach Death Messenger faster. It also describes optional swap cancels as a way to reduce exposure during long attack animations. This is the faster route, but it takes practice, and it is not required to play the character well.
Simpler spam version
Prydwen also gives a simpler combo for players who do not want to use dash cancels. It is slower to execute and deals less damage. It is a reasonable choice while you are still learning the timing, and a clear step up from ignoring the rotation altogether.
Adjusting the build to your account
- Missing the recommended weapon: pick from the listed alternatives based on whether you need CRIT, ATK, or Energy value for your rotation.
- Missing Lynae or Mornye: use Lynae with Shorekeeper, or Yinlin with Shorekeeper or Verina, depending on which support you own.
- Rotation feels uncomfortable: WaveKit suggests improving Energy Regen or defensive comfort before chasing ideal substats.
- Echoes are incomplete: finish the Void Thunder set and the cost pattern first, then refine substats.
Version and current status
WaveKit’s guide is marked “Reviewed for Version 3.5.” Pocket Tactics was updated January 16, 2026, and LootBar was published February 26, 2026 and updated February 27, 2026. None of these sources confirms whether a later patch changed Calcharo’s weapon, Echo, or team recommendations. Before building, check the current in-game character details and a recent guide, and rebalance the build if the numbers have shifted.
