On Android and iOS, it listed an 18 GB pre-download plus about 61 GB of temporary decompression space. These are historical figures for Version 3.1, which launched February 5, 2026 (UTC+8), not current storage requirements for the game.
Version 3.1 download and storage figures by platform
The table separates the download itself from extra space needed during installation and the broader storage figure listed for the game. The figures come from Kuro Games’ maintenance notice, reproduced in a community-preserved copy. An independent guide corroborates most of the figures.

The 18 GB versus 16 GB mobile preload difference is unresolved. The official-notice transcription supports 18 GB; the independent guide gives 16 GB. The notice says the additional mobile decompression space is temporary and freed after maintenance. These figures do not establish the final installed footprint after optional resources, voice packs, or cleanup.

What the three storage numbers mean
Preload download
This is the data downloaded before maintenance ends. For PC, the notice gave 35 GB; for Android and iOS, it gave 18 GB. The independent guide’s mobile figure differs, so treat that estimate as uncertain.

Temporary free space for decompression
Downloaded update files need room to unpack. The notice recommends at least 40 GB free on PC and approximately 61 GB on Android or iOS for this step. It explicitly says mobile’s additional space is temporary: “This space will be used only temporarily and will be freed up once the maintenance is completed.”
Listed game storage
The notice lists 150 GB for PC and Mac and 70 GB for Android and iOS. These are broader storage requirements, not preload download sizes or a measured final install footprint. The available notice and guide do not provide an equivalent numeric PS5 requirement.

Where to start the pre-download
- PC: Open the Wuthering Waves launcher and start the pre-download there. The notice recommends using Wi-Fi because of the update’s size and installing the game on an SSD.
- Android or iOS: Start the pre-download from the title screen or the in-game Terminal page. Use Wi-Fi where possible.
The notice warns that pre-download may fail when there is not enough available storage. On PC, check free space before beginning rather than relying only on the 35 GB download figure.
When Version 3.1 preload was available
Pre-download began February 3, 2026, at 10:00, and maintenance was scheduled for February 5, 2026, from 04:00 to 11:00; all times are UTC+8. Version 3.1 launched February 5, 2026 (UTC+8), so the sizes above describe that update rather than a currently available preload.
