Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has described Project Helix as a “family of devices,” and a report on an October 7, 2026 town hall quotes her saying, “There is not one device that fits all.” That wording points to a broader hardware strategy, but Xbox has not confirmed a specific lineup or a first-party handheld.
What did the Xbox CEO say about Project Helix?
In coverage of a BBC interview, Sharma was quoted describing Helix as “a great family of devices” and saying Xbox would share more soon. Project-Helix.net’s report and HotHardware’s report both cover the interview.
A separate account of an internal Xbox town hall quotes Sharma saying, “There is not one device that fits all,” and referring to players “on the go.” GamesRadar+ and VGC reported on those remarks. The quotes here are attributed to those outlets’ coverage; a directly accessible official transcript or recording was not available in the cited reports.
Does this confirm multiple Xbox consoles or a handheld?
No. The “family of devices” language leaves room for more than one form factor, and the reference to players on the go explains why some coverage interprets the comments as a possible portable Xbox. Neither statement confirms a handheld, however, or establishes that Helix will launch as multiple consoles.

What is known—and what remains unannounced?
Project Helix is being discussed as Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox hardware effort. The reports support the possibility that Xbox is considering a range of devices, but they do not establish the details a buyer would need to evaluate or purchase one.

- Reported: Sharma called Helix a “family of devices” and said there is not one device that fits all.
- Not confirmed: the number of products, their names or form factors, whether a first-party handheld is included, and how any devices would differ.
- Not stated: specifications, prices, release date, or retail availability.
Until Xbox names the products, comparisons between a supposed Helix console and handheld—or claims about their performance, compatibility, and intended uses—would be speculation.
