It did not include Descenders Next, despite an earlier Xbox announcement that it was coming to Game Pass on April 9. The roundup is a historical announcement, not a guide to what is in the Game Pass catalog today.
Xbox Game Pass games announced for April 2025
These dates, platforms and membership tiers come from Xbox Wire’s April 2, 2025 roundup. “Game Pass Standard” appears as “Now with Game Pass Standard” for three titles; the post names Ultimate and PC Game Pass for the others as shown below.

| Still Wakes the Deep | April 3 | Xbox Series X|S | Game Pass Standard |
| Wargroove 2 | April 3 | Console | Game Pass Standard |
| Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition | April 8 | Console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard |

| Hunt: Showdown 1896 | April 15 | PC; cloud and Xbox consoles listed as coming soon | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass |
Xbox’s announcement gives a quick sense of the range: Borderlands 3 is framed as a looter-shooter, while Blue Prince centers on exploring a manor whose rooms shift. These descriptions identify the games’ broad styles, not a judgment about their quality. Read Xbox Wire’s April 2 lineup announcement.
Is South of Midnight included in Game Pass?
Yes. Xbox listed South of Midnight for April 8, 2025, on cloud, PC and Xbox Series X|S with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The game is a Compulsion Games action-adventure set in the American Deep South. Xbox described its release as day one with Game Pass.

In a January release announcement, Xbox also named the Xbox app for Windows PC and Steam as platforms. It said the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade could provide up to five days of early access. The upgrade’s digital extras were an artbook, original soundtrack, comic, music video and documentary; those extras were not described as part of the base Game Pass subscription. Compulsion’s Zaire Lanier estimated that most players would take 10–12 hours to complete the game. That is the developer’s estimate, not an independently measured completion time. See Xbox Wire’s release details.
Was Descenders Next coming to Game Pass in April?
Xbox’s February 24 showcase recap announced Descenders Next for April 9, 2025, with Game Pass. It described snowboards, mountainboards and multiple biomes. But the April 2 Game Pass roundup omitted the game. The available Xbox announcements establish the earlier date and the later omission, but do not explain why it was absent from that particular list. Games leaving April 15
The post listed these games as leaving on April 15: Botany Manor, Coral Island, Harold Halibut, Homestead Arcana, Kona, Orcs Must Die! 3 and Turbo Golf Racing. Xbox also noted that Shadow of the Tomb Raider had been included in error and removed from the leaving-soon list.

The April roundup records the titles, dates, platforms and tiers Xbox announced at the time. It does not confirm the games’ current availability, the catalog for every region, or why Descenders Next was omitted from the April 2 list. Check the current Game Pass catalog for present-day availability rather than treating a 2025 announcement as a current listing.
