Xbox Wire’s May 6, 2025 post confirmed the first wave of Game Pass titles for May 2025. Dredge was listed as available that day, and dated additions followed from May 7 through May 20. Five games were listed as leaving the service on May 15. This guide reconstructs that announcement, title by title, so you can see which games were new, which were already live, and which were updates or perks rather than additions. It is a record of what Xbox said in May 2025. It does not establish what is in the Game Pass catalog today.
The May 2025 Wave 1 schedule at a glance
The announcement was published on May 6, 2025 by Megan Spurr, Senior Community Lead for Xbox Game Pass, under the title “Coming to Game Pass: DOOM: The Dark Ages, Revenge of the Savage Planet, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, and More” (Xbox Wire, May 6, 2025). Its “Coming Soon” list is the authoritative source for arrival dates. The table below reproduces that schedule. Platforms are the ones Xbox listed for each title. Membership tiers are shown only where the post’s pairing is described; where it is not, the cell says so.

Dredge: available on launch day of the wave
Dredge was the only title the post marked as available on May 6 itself. Xbox described it as a single-player fishing adventure with a sinister undercurrent. Players sell their catch, upgrade their boat, and investigate a mysterious archipelago. Because it was live on publication day, it is the one addition in this wave that needed no waiting period.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: character creation and battles
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 arrived May 7 and was presented as an action game built around character creation, customization, and battles involving the series’ characters. It is the wave’s broadest pairing: the post listed it for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, across Cloud, console, and PC.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2: a co-op focus
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 arrived May 13 on Cloud and console. Xbox’s listed focus for it is co-operative play. That makes it a different proposition from Dredge: a team game rather than a solo fishing adventure, so the two suit different sessions.

Revenge of the Savage Planet: a day-one release
Revenge of the Savage Planet was marked as a day-one Game Pass release on May 8, for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. The post’s line “Available on day one with Game Pass!” describes both this title and DOOM: The Dark Ages.

DOOM: The Dark Ages: day-one release with a Premium Upgrade
DOOM: The Dark Ages was marked as a day-one Game Pass release on May 15, for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, under Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Xbox described it as a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. The post also referenced a separate Premium Upgrade that includes up to 2-Day Early Access, campaign DLC at launch, and more. The Premium Upgrade is a separate offer from the Game Pass listing, and the post does not say whether it is included with a membership.

How to use this list
Treat the May 2025 schedule as a historical record of the wave. To find out whether a title is playable through your membership now, check the game’s current store page on Xbox or in the Game Pass app, then confirm the platform and tier shown there match your setup. A title’s entry in this list does not carry over to another title, and a game listed for one platform may not be offered on another.
For a decision about buying instead of subscribing, the announcement cannot answer the question. Check the current edition, platform, and whether a physical copy is sold for the platform you use before purchasing.
If you are choosing what to play first from this wave, compare four things for each title: the release date, the platform you play on, the tier the post listed, and the play style. Dredge and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 suit different sessions, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and DOOM: The Dark Ages sit at opposite ends of the wave in both tone and length.
