Xbox announced the departures on August 5, 2025 in an Xbox Wire post by Megan Spurr, Senior Community Lead, Xbox Game Pass. This article is a historical record of that announcement. Game Pass catalog changes are ongoing, so the list below does not tell you what is in the library today.
Which three games were removed, and where they were available
The August 5 announcement named three titles. The platform entries Xbox listed for each were as follows.

| Game | Departure date | Platforms listed by Xbox | Membership listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthem | August 15, 2025 | Console and PC | EA Play |
| Farming Simulator 22 | August 15, 2025 | Cloud, Console, and PC | Not stated in the announcement |
| Persona 3 Reload | August 15, 2025 | Cloud, Console, and PC | Not stated in the announcement |
Anthem was the only one of the three marked as EA Play. Because the platform list for Anthem omits Cloud, a cloud-only player would not have had Anthem through Game Pass in the form Xbox described.
The August 15 date and the official wording
Xbox gave a single departure date for the group: August 15, 2025. In the announcement, Spurr wrote: “The following games are leaving the Game Pass library soon. Jump back in before they go or use your membership discount to save up to 20% on your purchase to keep them in your library.”

The phrase “leaving soon” was the company’s own timing language. The announcement did not give a longer window for the titles to remain playable after the date.
The separate August 31 departures
A second group was announced on August 19, 2025 in a separate Xbox Wire post. It is not part of the three-game story, and the two lists should not be merged. The table below sets the two batches side by side.

The announcement described a Game Pass membership discount of up to 20% on a purchase, offered as a way to keep a departing game in a player’s library. Three limits apply to that offer.

- It was a stated maximum. “Up to 20%” is the ceiling named in the announcement, not a fixed price for any title.
- It was tied to the announcement. The offer belonged to the August 2025 departures; it is not a standing discount on those games today.
- It was not confirmed as uniform. The announcement did not say every platform or retailer offered the same discount.
Persona 3 Reload on Xbox today
Persona 3 Reload is sold on Xbox as a physical and digital product. ATLUS’s official site lists Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One among its platforms and presents both purchase options. A physical Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One copy is a purchase that does not depend on Game Pass membership, but it is a retail purchase, not a restoration of the Game Pass listing. The Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One edition should not be read as access on PC or through Cloud.
What is not on the list
Some coverage at the time pointed to other titles. Atlas Fallen does not appear on Xbox’s confirmed list for August 2025, so it should not be counted among the departures. Only the three titles above were named in the August 5 announcement, and only the five titles above in the August 19 announcement.

Checking the catalog now
Because these dates are in the past, the useful question for a current reader is whether a title is in the Game Pass library today. Check the live catalog on Xbox’s Game Pass pages or in the Xbox app before buying or planning around a title. Catalog membership can change again after any announced date, and an August 2025 notice does not reflect later additions or removals.
