Original DUB Edition versus Remix
The reviewed product is the original Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. A later release called Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix is a different edition. Used listings often place the two names close together, so read the title printed on the case and disc rather than relying on a seller’s abbreviated description. Which platforms are in scope
Rockstar’s May 6, 2004 announcement names PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Rockstar’s game page also lists PSP and gives April 11, 2005 as the release date, but PSP is outside this comparison. When a listing says simply “Midnight Club 3,” confirm both the edition and the console before paying.

Cars and other vehicles use class-linked special abilities. Those abilities, together with performance and visual customization, give the career and arcade modes much of their variety. Nothing in the cited comparison shows a different vehicle roster or different ability system between Xbox and PS2.
How long the career may take
GameSpot’s Alex Navarro estimated a career completion time of “upwards of 18 to 20 hours” in the March 22, 2006 review. That is a reviewer’s estimate for the game, not a guaranteed duration for every player and not a platform-specific measurement.

Performance: why Xbox is usually the safer technical choice
What the contemporary review actually observed
GameSpot reports slowdown on both versions. The difference is severity: PS2 slowdown was described as substantially more pronounced, with heavy rain and scenes containing multiple crashes called out as especially difficult. Xbox was not presented as flawless; it simply handled those demanding moments better in the reviewer’s experience.
What that does—and does not—tell you
This is a qualitative period observation, not a laboratory result. The review does not provide average or minimum frames per second, frame-time charts, resolution measurements or a controlled test using identical scenes. Your display, console condition and the particular event on screen can affect how noticeable a slowdown feels. Custom soundtracks
The review says Xbox players could use custom soundtracks. This is a meaningful difference for anyone who wants to replace or supplement the game’s built-in music with their own selections.
