The headline refers to Xbox’s October 2025 Game Pass lineup, not October 2026. Xbox announced Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions for October 9, 2025, and The Casting of Frank Stone for October 14, 2025. In its October 2026 update, Xbox instead listed The Casting of Frank Stone as leaving the catalog on October 15, 2026.
What Xbox announced for October 2025
Xbox Wire’s October 8, 2025 update named two late-month additions relevant to this headline. The games had different release dates, platforms, and plan labels:

Which Baldur’s Gate games were included?
The official names are Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions, rather than “Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2.” Xbox described the pair as offering “more than 100 hours of adventure.” That is Xbox’s promotional description of the games, not an independently measured playtime estimate.

Why the October 2026 date changes the story
Xbox’s separate October 7, 2026 update does not announce either Baldur’s Gate title as an October arrival. Instead, it lists The Casting of Frank Stone among games leaving Game Pass on October 15, 2026, across cloud, console, and PC. The arrival announced in 2025 and the departure announced in 2026 are separate catalog events.
