Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a two-game package: a remake and reimagining of Yakuza 3 starring Kazuma Kiryu, plus a separate new story focused on Yoshitaka Mine. Announced by SEGA on September 24, 2025, it launched on February 12, 2026.
What is Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties?
It combines two distinct experiences rather than adding a short bonus chapter to a single remake. Yakuza Kiwami 3 revisits the 2009 game with Kiryu at its center; Dark Ties is a separate included game with Mine as its protagonist. SEGA announced the package on September 24, 2025.
Kiryu’s story in Kiwami 3
Kiryu and Haruka Sawamura settle in Okinawa to run Morning Glory Orphanage. A conflict over beachfront property pulls Kiryu back into a fight to protect the people he cares about. SEGA describes the game as spanning Okinawa and Tokyo, with additional cutscenes, battles and minigames. Its announced combat options are Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami, a brawling style, and Ryukyu Style, which uses weapons and draws inspiration from traditional Okinawan weapon arts. These are publisher descriptions, not independent assessments of how the additions play.
Mine’s separate story in Dark Ties
Dark Ties follows Yoshitaka Mine, Kiryu’s adversary in Yakuza 3, from his earlier life as a startup entrepreneur into the yakuza world. SEGA’s support overview frames Mine’s journey around his search for true bonds after losing everything, and notes boxing-based combat and side experiences. It is an included, separate story—not simply another chapter in Kiryu’s campaign.

When did Yakuza Kiwami 3 come out?
The release date was February 12, 2026. SEGA’s launch notice confirmed the game was available that day. The September 24, 2025 date was the announcement, not the release.
What platforms is it on?
SEGA lists Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. The launch notice also confirms a free demo on PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam; it samples both games, including exploration in Okinawa and Tokyo, minigames, combat and substories. Demo save data does not transfer to the full game.

Is there a physical edition?
SEGA identifies package editions for PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Its notice specifies that Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions, as well as the Deluxe Edition, are digital only. That means the official information establishes physical-package options for those three listed platforms, not for Xbox, Steam or Deluxe. Regional stock and retailer listings can vary.
What comes with the Deluxe Edition and DLC?
SEGA describes the Deluxe Edition as the digital base game plus a Deluxe Upgrade. Its listed add-ons include character packs, outfits, Ryukyu Gal Gang customization, flip-phone customization and a BGM CD pack. The Japanese prices SEGA stated are 8,990 yen including tax for the base edition and 11,440 yen including tax for Deluxe; these are Japan-specific listed prices, not current prices for other regions.

Some DLC unlocks only after progressing through story chapters or the Bad Boy Dragon story. SEGA also says DLC items do not count toward certain training challenges and achievements. The applicable progress requirements and pack access details are covered in SEGA Support’s overview.
