Several Yellow Brick Games employees reportedly said in public posts that they had been laid off, according to reports published October 6–7, 2026. The reports do not establish how many people were affected or why, and neither included a studio statement detailing the cuts.
What has been reported about Yellow Brick Games layoffs?
Gamer24H reported on October 6 that multiple employees had posted about losing their jobs. Its account names five people and their roles: Senior Environment and Hard Surface Artist Derian McCrea, Graphics Engineer Adam Clapsaddle, Software Programmer Rebecca Bélanger, QA Lead Jessica Chapados Arseneault, and Senior Level Designer Julien Tonsuso. Techtroduce reported on October 7 that employees had publicly confirmed job losses, naming Chapados Arseneault and Clapsaddle.
These are secondary reports, not an independently established company-wide layoff count. Gamer24H attributes its account to Rock Paper Shotgun and has apparent drafting artifacts and an internal inconsistency; the available information does not independently verify every named post. The names and roles should therefore be treated as reporting, not as a complete or confirmed roster of people affected.
How many employees were laid off?
The total is not known from the reports. Five employees are named by Gamer24H, but that does not establish that five was the total—or that the named people represent everyone affected. Techtroduce also does not provide a complete count.

Yellow Brick Games said in its April 2, 2024 announcement that its team then had 68 developers across Quebec City and Montreal. That is a dated historical figure, not a current headcount and not a basis for calculating the scale of the reported layoffs.
Why were Yellow Brick Games staff laid off?
The reports do not give a reason. They also do not establish severance terms, a precise date for the job losses, or plans for the studio’s next project. Without a company explanation or further direct information, it would be speculative to attribute the reports to a particular business or development decision.
