Yes—Sea of Stars is officially available on Android. Playdigious released the premium mobile version on April 7, 2026, through Google Play. It costs $9.99 in the U.S. listing observed on August 18, 2026, although regional prices and promotions may differ.
The Android version includes redesigned touch controls, controller support, Google Play Games achievements, and cloud saves between Android devices. However, mobile multiplayer is unavailable, and the Throes of the Watchmaker DLC has not been confirmed for Android.

Where to download Sea of Stars on Android
Download the game from the official Google Play listing. Confirm that the app is published by Playdigious; avoid similarly named unofficial apps or APK downloads.

The Android port was developed by Sabotage Studio and adapted for mobile by Playdigious. It is a paid download, not a free-to-play game. Buying the PC or console version does not automatically provide a free Android copy.

As of August 18, 2026, the U.S. Google Play listing showed $9.99. The final price can vary by country, taxes, currency conversion, and promotions, so check the store page before buying.
Android compatibility requirements
Playdigious lists these baseline requirements:
- Android 10 or newer
- At least 2GB of RAM
Those requirements are not a guarantee that every qualifying phone will run the game. Playdigious has excluded some devices and GPU families after performance testing. Google Play’s compatibility result should be treated as the practical decision for your device.

Later compatibility notices add models including the Motorola Moto G54, G55 5G, G56 5G, G64, G73 5G, Redmi Note 14 5G, Infinix Note 40 5G, Infinix Note 40 Pro and Pro+, POCO M7 Pro 5G, and Honor 400 Lite. How to install it
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet.
- Search for Sea of Stars.
- Check that Playdigious is listed as the publisher.
- Verify the price and compatibility status.
- Purchase the game.
- Tap Install.
- Launch the game and sign in to Google Play Games if you want achievements and Android cloud-save functionality.
If the listing does not appear, possible explanations include device incompatibility, an excluded GPU, regional availability, an outdated Play Store or Google Play Services installation, or insufficient free storage. The first two are specifically documented by Playdigious; the others are general Android troubleshooting possibilities.
What the Android version includes
This is a premium adaptation of the main Sea of Stars RPG rather than a separate simplified spin-off. The Google Play listing highlights:

Important mobile limitations
Mobile multiplayer is not available. Although PC and console editions now support multiplayer, Playdigious says the feature is not currently available on mobile and has no confirmed visibility on a future mobile release.

Throes of the Watchmaker is not currently available on mobile. Playdigious has not confirmed whether the DLC will come to Android. That is not the same as saying it will never be released.
Cross-buy is not automatic. Do not assume that owning Sea of Stars on PC or console grants ownership of the Android edition.

Touch controls, controllers, and saves
The mobile interface was redesigned for touch, making the game playable without additional hardware. Controller play is also supported, but Playdigious warns that Android’s wide range of devices and controller models prevents it from guaranteeing compatibility with every setup. A controller may pair successfully with Android yet still have mapping or in-game recognition problems.
Cloud saves are described as sharing progress between Android devices. They should not be treated as guaranteed cross-platform saves between Android, iOS, PC, and consoles.

The game also supports local saving. Automatic saves occur after certain area transitions. Manual saves are available at books resting on pillars, and players can save by sleeping at a campfire. Manually save before changing devices or uninstalling the game.

Recent Android update
The Google Play listing showed a June 19, 2026 update containing a new cinematic intro, additional content in the Brugaves flashback cutscene, revised Normal and Hard difficulty balancing, changes to the Tactician’s Mettle and Ray of Sunset relics, and a fix for a softlock affecting the true ending.
Sabotage Studio separately announced the broader Sunset Edition on June 8, 2026. Because the studio announcement and Google Play notes describe updates at different levels, do not assume that every Sunset Edition change across every platform is included in the Android build unless the mobile listing confirms it.
Should you buy Sea of Stars on Android?
Buy it on Android if you want a premium, portable, primarily single-player RPG and your device passes Google Play’s compatibility check. Touch controls, Android-to-Android cloud saves, and controller support make it a flexible way to play.

User reviews on Google Play include anecdotal reports of battery drain and slowdowns on some devices; these are not controlled performance tests, so results may vary by phone.
What to do if compatibility changes
A device can meet the Android 10 and 2GB RAM minimums yet still be rejected because of its GPU. Playdigious has also said that devices initially considered compatible may later be excluded after graphical problems are identified. Sideloading an APK does not solve the underlying rendering or performance issue.
If your device becomes incompatible after purchase, existing owners may be able to keep playing but may lose access to future updates. For a refund request, contact Playdigious support and provide the Google Play order number beginning with GPA.
