The teammate died, became a skeleton, and could haunt the rest of the run as a ghost. Later coverage reported that an August patch added an option to turn the mechanic off and changed how it worked; those reports do not establish what the current game build does.
What did eating a teammate do in PEAK?
PEAK is a co-op climbing game. PC Gamer reported on July 30, 2025, that a player suffering severe hunger could eat a teammate. The teammate was killed, turned into a skeleton, and could continue to haunt the run as a ghost. PC Gamer’s July 30 report describes the mechanic as a desperate survival option, with a grim consequence for the player being eaten.
How hungry did you have to be?
GamesNight’s July 30, 2025 guide identified the mechanic as part of patch 1.10 and said it required hunger to be above 60%. That threshold comes from the guide alone; PC Gamer’s report does not independently verify it. GamesNight’s patch 1.10 guide is therefore evidence of what that outlet reported, not confirmation of a current or independently established requirement.
Was there an option to disable it?
PC Gamer’s coverage index lists an August 4, 2025 report that a patch added a toggle to disable eating friends and changed the mechanic. The index establishes that the update was reported, but it does not provide enough detail here to specify the exact changes or how to find the setting. PC Gamer’s PEAK coverage index is historical reporting, not current patch documentation.

Does the mechanic still work this way?
The available dated coverage does not establish the behavior, hunger requirement, or settings in the current version of PEAK. Treat the July and August 2025 accounts as a history of the mechanic’s reported introduction and revision—not a reliable guide to what happens in a 2026 build.
