For new Zenless Zone Zero players, the key rules are straightforward: Agent Exclusive Channels and W-Engine Channels keep separate guarantee counters, Battery Charge and Ether Batteries support progression, and some Beginner Guide rewards have specific eligibility requirements. Check the live channel Details and your in-game guide for rules and rewards that may change by version.
How do Agent banners work?
Agent Exclusive Channels feature Agents, while W-Engine Channels feature W-Engines. Their guarantee counters are tracked separately. HoYoverse’s Version 3.1 Limited-Time Channels notice, published July 27, 2026, says the guarantee count carries across Exclusive Channels of the same type and is independent of other channel types. The same-type carryover rule applies to W-Engine Channels.
That means progress on an Agent Exclusive Channel does not count toward a W-Engine Channel guarantee, or vice versa. For current probabilities, featured items, and the full rules for the channel you are considering, open its in-game Details panel; do not rely on an old banner roster or schedule.
Does banner pity carry over?
It carries over between channels of the same type, not between different types. An Agent Exclusive Channel counter remains in the Agent Exclusive Channel category when the featured channel changes; a W-Engine Channel counter remains in the W-Engine category. Check the live channel’s Details panel for the complete guarantee rules, since the official notice directs players there for the full Signal Search terms.

Are there Beginner Guide Agent and W-Engine rewards?
A reward announced for Version 3.2 is not universal to every new account. In its Version 3.2 update announcement, published September 9, 2026, HoYoverse said players who did not obtain the selectable limited S-Rank reward from the Version 3.1 Marcel Anniversary Gift could select one of three Agents through the Beginner Guide:

After completing the required Phase 2 missions, the announcement also lists a choice of W-Engine:
- Sharpened Stinger
- Myriad Eclipse
- Severed Innocence
Eligibility depends on whether the player claimed the specified Version 3.1 event reward, and the W-Engine choice has an additional mission condition. Check the Beginner Guide in your own game to see which rewards are available to your account.

What should I do with Battery Charge?
Battery Charge is a progression resource used for eligible activities, and Ether Batteries can provide another way to complete certain challenges. HoYoverse’s Version 3.0 announcement, published June 17, 2026, says the Compendium gained a bar showing Battery Charge, Backup Battery Charge, and Ether Batteries. Use that in-game resource display to review your current amounts.

Ether Batteries can then instantly complete eligible Combat Simulation and Area Patrol challenges, granting the corresponding upgrade materials and Drive Disc rewards. The cited official notices do not establish a current Battery Charge cap, regeneration rate, or universally optimal daily spending schedule, so avoid planning around an assumed number. Use current in-game resource information and choose eligible activities that advance the Agent or equipment upgrades you are pursuing.

These descriptions come from older update notes, so menu names or locations may have changed. Look for the planning options in your current game rather than assuming their Version 1.4 paths still match.
