It is not a proven fix for sweaty hands.
What the Zephyr mouse is
Zephyr Gaming designed the Zephyr as a conventional wired gaming mouse with an unusual addition: a fan in the palm-rest area, intended to move air across the hand. The fan is its defining feature, but it is only one part of the mouse to consider alongside its shape, weight, tracking, buttons and cable.
In its 2020 Kickstarter campaign, Zephyr Gaming advertised a 68 g weight, PixArt 3389 optical sensor, up to 16,000 DPI, 1,000 Hz polling, RGB lighting, a paracord cable and Omron switches rated for 50 million clicks. Those are campaign specifications, not confirmation of the specifications of a currently sold retail model. The campaign drew 757 backers and HK$530,946 in pledges; those figures describe crowdfunding, not sales or present-day availability. Zephyr Gaming’s Kickstarter campaign.
How the built-in fan works
Zephyr Gaming’s 2020 campaign FAQ says the fan has three speeds and can be switched off: “Absolutely, the fan can be set to 3 different speeds or completely switched off.” The FAQ lists speeds of 4,000, 7,000 and 10,000 RPM and claims noise below 30 decibels at maximum speed. The ability to turn the fan off gives players an option if they dislike its sound or sensation. It does not establish how much cooling a particular player will feel: that depends on the mouse, the setting and the person using it.
What reviewers reported about cooling
The hands-on accounts do not establish a universal result. They evaluated prototypes or manufacturing samples, and one reviewer noted differences between the tested prototype and the maker’s proposed final settings. No independent study or population-level statistic establishes how effectively the Zephyr cools hands.

- Tom’s Hardware: The reviewer felt a gentle breeze and found the chassis stayed relatively cool, but reported audible fan noise and vibration at the highest speed. Tom’s Hardware’s review.

What to weigh before choosing it
Cooling versus sound and vibration
The central trade-off is whether the airflow feels useful enough to justify adding a fan to the mouse. Some reviewers noticed a gentle breeze or a cooler-feeling chassis; others found the airflow limited. Noise and vibration also appeared in the hands-on reports, though the accounts differed by sample and setting.

Fit and everyday mouse performance
The fan does not replace the usual checks for a gaming mouse. Consider whether its shape suits your grip, whether its weight works for the way you play, and whether the sensor, buttons and cable meet your needs. The 68 g weight and other figures above come from the 2020 campaign, so verify the specifications of the exact model being offered before relying on them.
Availability
The Kickstarter campaign’s backer and pledge totals do not establish current stock, retail pricing or where the mouse can be bought today. Current Amazon availability was not confirmed, so check a retailer’s live listing rather than treating campaign-era information as present-day availability.

How to compare it with another gaming mouse
Compare more than the presence of a fan. Look at cooling sensation and airflow, sound and vibration, weight, shape and grip, sensor and tracking specifications, buttons, and cable behavior. Give hands-on reports their sample context: an observation from a prototype does not guarantee the same result from every production mouse or for every player.
