Complete the timed mission, including the TR3-VR maze and the fully cleared Siriks arena, to receive the reprised craftable Exotic pulse rifle.
Unlock Asset Protection and launch Zero Hour
1. Pick up the quest from Ada-1
- Travel to the Tower and land at the Annex.
- Speak with Ada-1 and collect Asset Protection.
- If the quest is not on the first screen, check Ada-1’s second inventory page.
2. Start the mission
Open the Director, select the Into the Light node, and choose Zero Hour. The mission is a timed run through combat rooms, vents, exterior jumps, the fan room, the TR3-VR maze, the Cryptarch vault and the final Siriks arena.

Zero Hour timers and difficulty choices
The timer can vary by the version of the activity you are playing. A Shacknews guide dated May 14, 2024 reports 40 minutes on Normal and 20 minutes on Legend. A Destiny 2 Wiki entry edited September 19, 2026 lists 40 minutes on Normal and 30 minutes on Legend. Treat the countdown displayed by your current activity and patch as authoritative rather than assuming one Legend value applies everywhere.

Normal is usually the practical choice for a first clear or solo route learning. A coordinated fireteam is more forgiving during the combat rooms and boss encounter, while solo players benefit from memorizing jumps and safe positions before attempting the shorter Legend run.

Zero Hour walkthrough

Tower North and the courtyard
Enter through the doors and take the vent on the right. In the open courtyard, use the wall and boxes as cover while defeating the Captains, Shanks, Vandals and other Fallen. The far barrier lowers only after the required enemies are dead.
Continue into the former Tower vault area. Prioritize the Heavy Shanks, Arc-shielded Shanks, sniper Shanks, Vandals and the Brig before moving on.

Hangar combat
Clear the elevated snipers, Servitors and lower-level Fallen. Destroy Servitors early because their shields protect nearby enemies. Then eliminate the Spider tank/Walker and use the rear stairs to continue.

Vents and exterior platforming
Follow the vent route into the outdoor traversal sections. The mobility routes differ by difficulty, so do not assume a jump that works on one version is the intended path on the other. Move deliberately, watch for narrow ledges and preserve enough time for the combat and boss rooms.

Descend the fan room
The fan room is a vertical drop through spinning blades. Pause on the safe ledges between blades, line up each descent and wait for a clear opening instead of trying to fall through the entire shaft at once.

Beat the TR3-VR maze
TR3-VR—often called “Trevor” in walkthroughs—is an invulnerable security construct. Contact kills instantly, so there is no combat solution.
- Use the monitor at the entrance to orient yourself before entering the moving hazard area.
- Move from alcove to alcove and hide whenever TR3-VR sweeps across your lane.
- Activate all four switches. Do not head for the exit after activating only some of them.
- Once the maze opens, take the exit while continuing to avoid the construct.
The safest rhythm is to watch a sweep pass, move to the next alcove, and wait again. Rushing across an open lane is usually more dangerous than spending a few seconds stationary.

Cross the Cryptarch vault and puzzle route
After the maze, continue through the remaining jumps to the Cryptarch vault. This area contains the puzzle route used for Legend and Vaulted Obstacles objectives. If you are pursuing intrinsic-upgrade progress, slow down here and follow the required configuration rather than treating the vault as a simple hallway.

Clear Siriks’s boss arena
Siriks arrives with Fallen reinforcements. Two Servitors, Mimiks-0 and Mimiks-1, can make nearby enemies immune, so remove the support units when they appear. Two Fallen Walkers deploy later; damage and destroy them before returning your attention to Siriks.
After Siriks falls, keep fighting. The mission does not complete until Siriks, the Walkers, the Servitors and every remaining Fallen enemy in the room are dead. Wait for the completion trigger before leaving the arena.
What Zero Hour rewards
Outbreak Perfected
Completing Zero Hour awards Outbreak Perfected. Bungie describes the reprised mission as returning the Exotic with a crafting pattern, making the weapon craftable rather than a fixed-roll drop.
Catalyst and additional objectives
Legend completion is associated with obtaining the Outbreak Perfected catalyst. The Vaulted Obstacles puzzles provide intrinsic-trait progress in the reprised version, and completing those objectives is also tied to the Vimana Junker Exotic Ship.

Choosing your objective
| Goal | Recommended approach |

| Obtain the weapon | Clear Zero Hour on Normal and finish the entire Siriks arena. |
| Work toward the catalyst | Plan a Legend clear and verify the current in-game objective requirements. |
| Improve the weapon and earn the ship | Complete the relevant Vaulted Obstacles and intrinsic-upgrade puzzles in addition to the clear. |
Common failure points
The quest is missing from Ada-1
Confirm that you landed at the Annex and inspect Ada-1’s second page. The activity will not appear in the Into the Light node until Asset Protection has been acquired.
You keep dying in the maze
TR3-VR cannot be damaged. Stay in alcoves during its sweep, use the entrance monitor to establish your orientation and activate the four switches one at a time before taking the opened exit.
The mission has not completed after the boss dies
Search the entire arena for surviving Fallen, Servitors or Walkers. Zero Hour requires a full room clear, not merely Siriks’s defeat.
