- Follow the uninstall wizard.

Do not copy only zpi5.dll into the new installation. Matching companion libraries, configuration files, and resources may also be required.
3. Check whether antivirus software quarantined the file

A 64-bit edition of Windows can run a 32-bit Zoner application. The important match is between the Zoner executable, its DLLs, and its dependency chain.
- Return to the executable path recorded from the error.
- Open that folder in File Explorer.
- Search the folder and its subfolders for
zpi5.dll. - If the file is present, right-click it and select Properties.
- Review the General and Details tabs.
- Check that the location belongs to the Zoner installation and that the file is not blocked.
- If a Digital Signatures tab is present, inspect the signer and signature status.
- If the file is absent, run the official installer repair.

- Check whether the Zoner folder was moved to another drive.
- If it was moved, restore it to its original location if possible.
- Do not rename the folder or launch an old shortcut pointing to a deleted path.
- Right-click the Zoner shortcut and choose Open file location.
- Confirm that the shortcut points to the intended installation.
- Run the official installer’s repair option.
If the original folder was deleted or only some files remain, reinstall Zoner. Restoring one DLL cannot reconstruct the rest of the application.

6. Repair Windows components only when other programs are affected
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
DISM and System File Checker repair Windows components. They are not the normal fix for a missing application DLL, especially when only Zoner fails.
Use them when several unrelated applications report damaged Windows files, Windows Update is malfunctioning, or Windows itself shows broader corruption.
- Open Start and type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
- Run this command and wait for it to finish:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Run System File Checker as a separate command:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test Zoner again.
If either command reports that it could not complete, restart Windows and repeat the command once. If only Zoner still fails, return to the Zoner repair or reinstall steps.

- Select Device Manager.

- Open the Driver tab and note the provider and version.

Do not install a driver merely because a DLL utility recommends it.

Do not download an isolated zpi5.dll from a random DLL website and place it in System32 or SysWOW64.
That approach can fail because:
- the file may contain malware;
- it may belong to a different Zoner build;
- its architecture may not match the executable;
- its dependencies may still be missing;
- its signature and origin may be unverifiable;
- placing an application DLL in a Windows directory can cause confusing load-order problems.
zpi5.dll should normally be restored inside the Zoner application directory by the official Zoner installer. Do not install Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET solely because a generic DLL site recommends it. There is no verified evidence that this file belongs to those Microsoft runtimes.
Why regsvr32 zpi5.dll usually does not help
regsvr32 is for DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. It is not a general repair command.
Running:
regsvr32 zpi5.dll
will not restore a missing file or repair a damaged Zoner installation. It may produce an error stating that the module was loaded but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found.

Use System Restore only when the problem clearly began after a system change and a restore point predates that change.
- Open Start and search for Create a restore point.
- Open it and select System Restore.
- Choose a restore point from before the Zoner failure began.
- Review the affected programs.
- Start the restore and restart Windows.
System Restore rolls back system files and settings but does not remove personal files. It is not the first choice for a routine Zoner repair.
