No special Samsung-compatible keyboard is required for a Samsung Odyssey monitor. Any suitable USB or wireless gaming keyboard can work with the computer driving the display. The important choice is where you connect it: directly to the PC for the most reliable gaming performance and software support, or through the Odyssey’s USB hub when your exact model has an active upstream connection and compatible downstream ports.
This list covers competitive Hall-effect keyboards, wireless and low-profile models, compact full-size boards, TKL options, and feature-rich keyboards for gaming and work. Odyssey models differ significantly in USB-C, USB-B, hub, and KVM features, so check the manual for your exact G7, G8, G9, OLED, Neo, or Gaming Hub model before routing peripherals through the monitor.

Our recommendations
1. Wooting 80HE — best for competitive FPS
The Wooting 80HE is the strongest choice here for players who want maximum control over actuation and key reset. Its Hall-effect design supports adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger, features that are particularly relevant in movement-heavy competitive games.

The 80% layout leaves more room for a low-sensitivity mouse beside a wide Odyssey display, but it omits the number pad and dedicated media controls. It is wired, so connect it directly to the PC when configuring Wootility, updating firmware, or using its advanced input features.
Buy it if: you play competitive FPS games and value adjustable movement inputs more than wireless convenience.
Skip it if: you need a number pad, Bluetooth, or a more traditional general-purpose keyboard.

The Keychron K2 HE combines a compact 75% layout with magnetic switches and wireless functionality. It suits an Odyssey desk where mouse space matters but dedicated arrow keys and a function row remain useful.
Depending on the exact configuration, it can offer wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth operation. Check the regional product page for the switch option, layout, receiver, and software support. Use 2.4GHz or wired mode for gaming; Bluetooth is better treated as a convenient secondary-device connection.
Keychron’s configuration tools and magnetic-switch features may not be equally convenient on every operating system. For firmware, remapping, and actuation changes, connect directly to the PC rather than assuming the monitor hub will pass every feature.
Buy it if: you want wireless Rapid Trigger in a compact board.

3. SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 — best mainstream adjustable-actuation keyboard
The Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is a practical middle ground for Odyssey owners who want adjustable actuation and a familiar gaming-peripheral ecosystem. Its TKL layout removes the number pad, giving FPS players more mouse room while retaining the function row and navigation cluster.
It is a wired keyboard, and advanced configuration depends on SteelSeries GG. Basic typing should work through a compatible monitor hub, but connect it directly to the PC for firmware, profiles, RGB, remapping, and actuation settings.
Buy it if: you want Hall-effect-style control without moving into an enthusiast-focused ecosystem.

5. Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID — best Logitech tournament option
The Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID combines a tournament-friendly TKL layout with Rapid Trigger, dynamic switches, key control, LIGHTSYNC, and G HUB compatibility, according to Logitech’s specification.
Check whether you are buying the wired or wireless version. The keyboard itself should provide basic HID input through a suitable USB connection, but G HUB-based remapping, lighting, profiles, and feature configuration are Windows-oriented. Direct PC connection is the safer choice for those functions.
Buy it if: you already use Logitech G peripherals or want a familiar mainstream ecosystem around adjustable input.
Skip it if: you want a full-size board or prefer configuration without desktop software.
6. Corsair K70 PRO TKL Hall Effect — best Corsair ecosystem choice
The K70 PRO TKL Hall Effect uses Corsair MGX V2 switches and supports Rapid Trigger. Its TKL design creates more mouse room than a full-size keyboard while retaining the keys most PC gamers use.
Corsair lists USB compatibility with PC, Mac, and Xbox, but advanced customization requires iCUE and internet access according to the product requirements. That distinction matters if you plan to connect it to an Odyssey hub, a console, or multiple computers: basic input can work without the full software feature set.
Buy it if: you already use iCUE and want Hall-effect controls in a conventional gaming ecosystem.

7. Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro — best full-size gaming keyboard
The BlackWidow V4 Pro is the choice for Odyssey owners who do not want to give up a number pad, dedicated media controls, macro keys, or a volume wheel. It is particularly suitable for MMO players, productivity users, and anyone sharing a gaming desk with office work.
The trade-off is width. A full-size board can reduce mouse space, and a large Odyssey monitor stand may make an already crowded desk feel cramped. Razer recommends the included high-speed USB Type-A-to-Type-C cable for high-polling-rate operation, making a direct PC connection the sensible setup.

- Whisper quiet gaming switches – Nearly silent use for 20 million low friction keypresses
- Premium magnetic wrist rest – Provides full palm support and comfort
- Dedicated multimedia controls – Adjust volume and settings on the fly
Razer’s US product listing showed a $249.99 price for the BlackWidow V4 Pro when captured, but current prices and availability change. Treat that figure as a dated US list-price signal rather than a guaranteed sale price.
Buy it if: dedicated controls and a number pad matter more than a compact footprint.
Skip it if: you play low-sensitivity FPS games or have limited desk width.
8. ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless — best compact full-size keyboard
The Scope II 96 Wireless retains a number pad while taking up less space than a conventional full-size keyboard. That makes it a strong compromise for an ultrawide Odyssey desk: you keep spreadsheet and MMO functionality without using quite as much horizontal room.
Tom’s Hardware describes the model as tri-mode, with wired, wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity, and reports up to 1,500 hours of battery life under stated conditions. Battery results depend on lighting, connection mode, and other settings, so do not treat that figure as universal.
Compact full-size layouts can place navigation and number-pad keys closer together than expected. Check the photographs and exact regional SKU before buying.
Buy it if: you need a number pad but want more mouse room than a standard full-size board provides.
Skip it if: you require conventional full-size spacing or Hall-effect actuation.
9. Logitech G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL — best low-profile wireless option
The G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL is a low-profile wireless keyboard for users who want a shallower typing position and a cleaner desk around a large Odyssey display. Its TKL layout leaves more room for mouse movement while retaining the function row.

Does a Samsung Odyssey monitor work with any gaming keyboard?
Usually, keyboard compatibility is determined by the host device and connection method, not by the Samsung branding on the display. USB-A wired keyboards, USB-C wired keyboards, 2.4GHz wireless receivers, and Bluetooth keyboards can all work in the right setup.
However, do not interpret that as “every keyboard works through every Odyssey monitor.” Samsung models use different USB layouts, hub designs, USB-C capabilities, and KVM implementations. Samsung’s USB-port glossary distinguishes upstream connections, which link the monitor hub to the computer, from downstream ports intended for peripherals. The Odyssey G7 setup guide, for example, identifies a USB Type-B upstream connection, while the Odyssey OLED G8 guide documents model-specific USB-C peripheral connectivity.
A keyboard’s USB pass-through is also not the same thing as the monitor’s USB hub. A pass-through generally needs a second USB cable connected to the PC.
Should you connect the keyboard to the PC or the Odyssey monitor?
Direct to the PC is the safest default. Use it for competitive gaming, firmware updates, RGB applications, macros, remapping, Rapid Trigger, analog input, wireless receivers, and high-polling modes.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Connecting through the Odyssey hub is convenient when you want a single cable-managed setup and only need basic keyboard input. It requires an active upstream connection between the monitor and PC. Depending on the model, that may be USB Type-B or USB-C. A hub can also have power, bandwidth, wake-from-sleep, or compatibility limitations.
For wireless keyboards, connect the receiver directly to the PC or use the manufacturer’s extension cable to position it close to the keyboard. Hiding a receiver behind a large curved display or metal monitor stand can reduce reliability.
How to connect a keyboard through an Odyssey monitor
- Connect the monitor to the computer using DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB-C as supported by both devices.
- If the monitor has a separate upstream USB port, connect it to the computer with the supplied USB cable.
- Plug the keyboard into a downstream USB port on the monitor.
- Wait for the operating system to detect the keyboard.
- Test normal typing, media keys, and any required special keys.
- For RGB, firmware, macros, Rapid Trigger, or analog configuration, move the keyboard directly to the PC if the hub does not expose the required features reliably.
If the keyboard works on the PC but not through the monitor, test the keyboard directly first, then confirm the upstream cable, try another downstream port, reduce lighting or polling settings, and consult the exact model manual. Samsung provides model-specific support pages, such as the pages for the Odyssey G7 G70D and Odyssey G7 G73SH.
Will a wireless keyboard work with an Odyssey monitor?
- Receiver connected to the PC: generally the most reliable option for gaming and configuration.
- Receiver connected to the monitor: may work when the hub is active and supplies adequate power, but range and hub behavior can vary.
- Bluetooth paired to the monitor: only applies to Odyssey models with the necessary Bluetooth or smart-monitor functionality; it is not universal across the range.
For competitive play, prefer wired or 2.4GHz wireless over Bluetooth. Keep the receiver near the keyboard, away from metal obstructions and congested USB 3.x devices.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Does a 240Hz or 360Hz Odyssey require a special keyboard?
No. Monitor refresh rate and keyboard polling rate are separate systems. A 240Hz or 360Hz display does not require a Samsung-specific or unusually high-polling keyboard.

- 【Ergonomics & Mechanical Feel Keyboard】The ergonomically designed keycap height maintains the comfort for long time use, protects the wrist, and the mechanical feeling brought by the imitation mechanical technology when using it, an excellent mechanical feeling that can be enjoyed without the high price, and also a quiet membrane gaming keyboard
When choosing a gaming keyboard, consider input latency, actuation consistency, Rapid Trigger, key rollover, wireless stability, firmware, and software reliability. An advertised 8,000Hz polling mode does not automatically create a visible advantage on a 240Hz display. Its practical value depends on the game, CPU load, USB implementation, firmware, and the player’s sensitivity to input behavior.
Are Hall-effect keyboards worth it?
Hall-effect or magnetic keyboards can provide adjustable actuation, dynamic reset through Rapid Trigger, per-key customization, and analog-style input on supported products. These features are most relevant to movement-heavy competitive games.
They also cost more, can depend heavily on Windows software, offer less switch compatibility than conventional hot-swap mechanical boards, and may feel less satisfying to buyers who prefer tactile or clicky switches. Some games or competitive environments may restrict or scrutinize particular input features. Hall-effect technology is a useful tool, not a guarantee that a player will perform better.

| 75% | Compact desks while retaining arrows and a function row | More compressed key arrangement |

A large G9 or Ark-style display does not automatically mean you have room for a full-size keyboard. Measure the usable desk width, account for the monitor stand, and decide whether mouse travel or number-pad access matters more.
Software and operating-system considerations
Most keyboards behave as basic USB Human Interface Devices without proprietary software. That does not mean every feature works without it.
- Wootility: used for Wooting configuration and advanced input features.
- Logitech G HUB: used for Logitech profiles, lighting, remapping, and configuration.
- Razer Synapse: used for Razer profiles, macros, lighting, and advanced settings.
- SteelSeries GG: used for Apex configuration and profiles.
- Corsair iCUE: required for advanced K70 customization.
- ASUS Armoury Crate: used for supported ROG settings.
- Keychron tools: feature support depends on the exact model and configuration.
If a keyboard types normally through the Odyssey hub but RGB, macros, or Rapid Trigger do not work, that is often expected. Connect it directly to the PC for firmware updates, remapping, lighting profiles, and actuation settings.
Troubleshooting Odyssey keyboard problems
The keyboard works on the PC but not through the monitor
- Test the keyboard directly on the PC to confirm it works.
- Connect the monitor’s upstream USB cable.
- Try a different downstream USB port.
- Confirm that the selected monitor input keeps the hub active.
- Reduce the keyboard’s polling rate or lighting intensity.
- Use the supplied cable instead of a passive hub or adapter.
- For wireless models, move the receiver to a direct PC port or use its extension cable.
- Check the manual for the exact Odyssey model number.
RGB, macros, or Rapid Trigger do not work
Basic keyboard input may pass through a monitor hub while proprietary software communication does not. Connect the keyboard directly to the PC, install the manufacturer’s software, update firmware if needed, and configure the feature there.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The wireless receiver is unreliable
Move it away from the monitor stand, metal surfaces, and busy USB 3.x devices. Use the manufacturer’s receiver extension and keep the receiver close to the keyboard. Also confirm that the keyboard is in 2.4GHz mode rather than Bluetooth.
KVM switching does not behave as expected
KVM is model-specific. Do not assume that every G7, G8, or G9 switches keyboard input automatically with video. Some setups require an upstream connection for each computer, a particular USB-C or USB-B cable, a monitor-menu setting, or a supported input combination.
Samsung documentation illustrates the distinction: some monitor families advertise KVM functionality, while other Odyssey product sheets describe a USB hub without establishing universal KVM support. Consult the exact manual rather than applying a procedure from another Odyssey model. Samsung’s CJ890 documentation and Odyssey G7 datasheet demonstrate why the model number matters.
High polling rate is unstable
Connect the keyboard directly to a motherboard USB port, use the included cable, avoid passive hubs, update firmware, and test at 1,000Hz before trying 4,000Hz or 8,000Hz. A maximum polling-rate specification is not a guarantee of a meaningful benefit in every game or PC.

Which keyboard should you buy?
- Competitive FPS: Wooting 80HE.
- Wireless Rapid Trigger: Keychron K2 HE.
- Mainstream adjustable actuation: SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3.
- Premium optical competitive board: Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL.
- Logitech ecosystem: Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID.

- Compact full-size: ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless.
- Low-profile wireless: Logitech G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL.
- Gaming plus extensive typing: Keychron Q1 HE.
For most Odyssey owners, connect the keyboard directly to the PC unless you specifically value the monitor hub for cable management and only need basic input. The monitor’s refresh rate is not the deciding factor; layout, switch behavior, wireless reliability, software support, and available desk space are.
