“The program can’t start because 2g_dll_slave.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”
2g_dll_slave.dll is most strongly associated with an old Samsung mobile-phone Flash Loader package, not with Windows itself. Public file records describe it as part of bfloaderapp MFC Application, a third-party 32-bit application component.

Before changing Windows, identify the program that is trying to load the DLL. The correct repair is normally to restore the complete Flash Loader package, not to download this one file.
Which fix applies to you
- The error appears when starting a Samsung phone-flashing utility: Restore the complete model-specific Flash Loader archive.
- The DLL is missing from an extracted folder: Extract the archive again, including every file and subfolder.
- Windows Security quarantined the file: Review Protection history and restore it only when the original package is trusted.
- The DLL is present but Windows still says “specified module could not be found”: A dependency of the DLL may be missing.
- The loader starts but cannot detect the phone: Troubleshoot the USB cable, device mode, and Samsung driver instead.
- The program worked before a system change: Try System Restore.
- Several unrelated Windows programs fail: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC.
Do not begin by copying 2g_dll_slave.dll into System32 or SysWOW64. Do not use registry cleaners or automatic DLL download sites.

Fix 1: Restore the complete Flash Loader package
This is the most likely solution.
The strongest public association for 2g_dll_slave.dll is with older Samsung Flash Loader packages, including packages described as “Flash loader 7.2.4 SEC 2.4 Lite And Slave 0.4.” That association is supported by repair references and process listings, but the exact Samsung release and official provenance of this DLL are not confirmed.
1. Find the parent program
- Press
Win+S. - Search for the flashing utility by the shortcut name you normally use.
- Right-click it and select Open file location.
- Right-click the shortcut and choose Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, read the Target path.
- Open that folder in File Explorer.
Look for the loader executable, often associated with bfloaderapp.exe, and check whether 2g_dll_slave.dll is in the same application folder or in a subfolder expected by the package.
If the error appears while launching an unrelated program, do not assume the Samsung association applies. The folder containing the executable is more useful than the DLL filename alone.
2. Rebuild the folder from the original package
Obtain the complete Flash Loader archive or installer for the exact Samsung model and firmware family from an authorized Samsung service source or a known-good archival copy.
Then:
- Create a simple folder such as
C:SamsungFlashLoader. - Right-click the downloaded archive.
- Select Extract All.
- Set the destination to
C:SamsungFlashLoader. - Open the extracted folder.
- Confirm that the loader executable and its companion files remain together.
- Start the loader from that folder.
Do not copy only the executable. Do not mix 2g_dll_slave.dll from one loader release with executables or files from another model or “Master/Slave” package.
What success looks like
The loader should open without the missing-DLL message. If it opens but does not detect the phone, the DLL problem is resolved and you should continue with the USB and driver checks later in this guide.
If the same message remains, verify that you extracted the correct archive and that the DLL was not removed by antivirus software.

Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Antivirus software may remove or quarantine an old unsigned or unfamiliar utility component.

- Open Start.
- Search for Windows Security and open it.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- If
2g_dll_slave.dllor the Flash Loader executable appears, inspect the detection details. - Restore it only if the package came from a trusted, verifiable service source.
- Extract or reinstall the complete package again.
- Start the loader from its application folder.
Microsoft warns that restoring a detected file can put the device at risk. If you cannot verify the archive’s origin, do not restore the file. Find a safer, authorized copy of the complete loader instead.
After restoring a file, add an exclusion only if you understand the security risk and trust the entire application folder. Avoid excluding broad locations such as C: or the Downloads folder.
If Protection history is empty, the file may have been deleted during extraction, removed by another security product, or never included in the archive.

“The specified module could not be found” does not always mean that 2g_dll_slave.dll itself is absent. Windows can display the same message when a DLL required by it cannot be loaded.
First, check the next error carefully. If it names an mfc*.dll, msvcp*.dll, or msvcr*.dll file, the old loader may require a matching Microsoft Visual C++ runtime.
Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ Redistributable downloads and match the package to the application architecture. The available record for 2g_dll_slave.dll identifies it as 32-bit, so an x86 runtime may be relevant even when Windows itself is 64-bit.
Do not install random runtime DLL files individually. Install the appropriate Microsoft redistributable package, restart Windows, and test the loader again.

Fix 4: Understand 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
The available file metadata identifies 2g_dll_slave.dll as an x86 DLL. A 32-bit application can run on 64-bit Windows through WOW64, but a 64-bit process cannot load a 32-bit DLL.
To check the operating system:
- Press
Win+I. - Select System.
- Select About.
- Read System type.
A 64-bit Windows installation is not automatically the problem. Old 32-bit utilities commonly run on it, although compatibility issues can still occur.
To try compatibility settings:
- Open the Flash Loader folder.
- Right-click the loader executable.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Select Run this program in compatibility mode for.
- Try an older Windows version appropriate to the utility.
- Select Run this program as an administrator.
- Select Apply, then OK.
- Launch the loader again.
Compatibility mode cannot recreate a missing DLL or repair a mismatched package. If the message does not change, restore the original application package instead.

regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. It does not make an ordinary application DLL loadable.
Do not run:
regsvr32 2g_dll_slave.dll
unless documentation from the original software provider specifically requires registration. A Flash Loader companion DLL is not established as a COM or ActiveX component, so registration is generally irrelevant.
Copying it to C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64 is also not a reliable repair. It can create version conflicts and makes it harder to determine which application owns the file.
The application folder is normally the correct location for a private third-party DLL because Windows searches the application directory early in its normal DLL search order.

Fix 6: Repair Windows components when multiple apps fail
Windows component repair is a secondary step. DISM and SFC will not normally recreate a third-party Samsung DLL, but they are useful if many unrelated applications are failing.

- Open Start.
- Search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the Flash Loader again.
Success means DISM completes without an unrepaired error and SFC reports that it found no integrity violations or repaired corrupted files. If SFC reports files it could not repair, repeat the process after restarting and confirm that DISM completed first.

If only this Flash Loader fails, stop troubleshooting Windows components and rebuild the application package.
Fix 7: Troubleshoot the Samsung driver only after the loader opens
A missing-DLL error and a phone-detection error are different problems. If the loader opens successfully but cannot see the phone, check the connection.
- Disconnect the phone.
- Restart Windows.
- Connect the phone using a known-good USB cable.
- Put the phone into the mode required by the loader.
- Press
Win+Xand select Device Manager. - Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, Ports (COM & LPT), and any phone-related category.
- Look for a warning icon or an unknown device.
- Right-click the affected device and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers, or install the model-appropriate Samsung connectivity package from an authorized source.
- If the device is clearly stale, right-click it, select Uninstall device, restart Windows, and reconnect the phone.
Success means Windows identifies the phone or the loader detects it. If the loader still opens but cannot communicate, try another USB port, cable, phone mode, or model-specific driver.

Fix 8: Use System Restore after a recent change
If the loader worked recently and the DLL disappeared after software installation, an update, or a configuration change, System Restore may reverse that change.

Win+R. - Enter
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point from before the problem began.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Select Next, then Finish.
- Allow Windows to restart.
System Restore rolls back system files, settings, and installed programs but normally does not remove personal files. If no suitable restore point exists, return to the complete Flash Loader package repair.
Prevention and safe sourcing
Keep the loader executable, 2g_dll_slave.dll, and its companion files in one dedicated application folder. Preserve the original archive rather than extracting only selected files. Record the phone model and firmware family associated with each loader so packages are not mixed.
Avoid random DLL download websites. A replacement may contain malware, use the wrong architecture, come from a different release, or fail because another dependency is missing. Public catalogue metadata reports a description, x86 architecture, version, size, and hashes for this file, but those records do not prove that a downloaded copy is authentic, digitally signed, or malware-free.

The safest outcome is a complete loader package from an authorized Samsung service source or a trusted archival copy whose contents can be verified. Samsung’s current support material may provide connectivity software for some legacy models without providing this particular Flash Loader.
