A DC team-based shooter inspired by Marvel Rivals could draw on a huge cast—but the best roster additions would do more than swap one familiar superhero for another. Blue Beetle, Vixen, Zatanna, Plastic Man, Booster Gold, Mister Miracle, and Swamp Thing each suggest a distinct visual identity and a different way to shape a team fight. These are speculative character and gameplay pitches, not a report about an announced game or confirmed abilities.
What a DC take on Marvel Rivals could be
Marvel Rivals is described on its official site as a superhero team-based PvP shooter. DC has not announced an equivalent game in the material available here. Its separate DC Worlds Collide is a mobile RPG for iOS and Android, released May 15, 2025, with 5v5 PvP arenas; that mode does not make it a shooter. The ideas below imagine how these characters might work in a hypothetical DC team shooter rather than describe an existing roster or game.

There is room to look beyond the household-name headliners. DC’s character directory lists 251 characters on its page accessed in 2026, while DC described DC Worlds Collide as featuring more than 70 characters at launch in 2025. Those figures refer to different things: a directory and the roster of a mobile RPG, not the likely size of a hypothetical shooter roster.

1. Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes): adaptable alien technology
Jaime Reyes’s alien-tech suit could give a game designer a natural way to combine ranged pressure with defensive options. One possible design might let him switch between weapon configurations and deploy a temporary guard or shield, making him a flexible fighter rather than a specialist locked into one range. The suit’s changing shapes would also give him a strong, readable silhouette in the middle of a crowded fight. These are design possibilities, not confirmed abilities.

2. Vixen: a power set that can change with the moment
Vixen’s animal-inspired abilities could make her movement and attacks feel responsive to the traits she draws on. A proposed kit might trade between a fast approach, a high leap, or a forceful strike, allowing players to adapt to the position of a fight. That variety could make her more interesting than a simple all-purpose brawler, provided the game communicated each change clearly to opponents and teammates. DC includes Vixen among the characters featured in its DC Worlds Collide listing; that listing does not establish a shooter role or kit.
3. Zatanna: magic built for control and misdirection
Zatanna’s backward-spoken magic is an immediate visual and audio hook. A hypothetical kit could lean into temporary area control, protective effects, or spells that interrupt an opponent’s plan, rather than making every ability a direct damage attack. Her spellcasting could also create a clear support-oriented play style without reducing her to a passive healer. Any such role is a pitch, not an official design.
4. Plastic Man: elastic movement with a comic edge
Plastic Man could make traversal and crowd control look unlike anyone else’s. Elastic reach might let him disrupt enemies from unexpected angles, while stretching and reshaping could support playful movement animations or a rescue maneuver. His comedy is part of the appeal, but it could serve gameplay too: exaggerated motion would help communicate what he is doing even in a fast match. A vanguard-style role is one possible interpretation, not a confirmed assignment.

5. Booster Gold: flashy future tech with team utility
Booster Gold’s future technology and showman persona could support a character who protects teammates while making a spectacle of it. A proposed design might combine a personal shield, deployable gadgets, and attention-grabbing presentation, rewarding players who help their team instead of chasing solo eliminations. That makes him a plausible support concept, but the role and mechanics are speculative.
6. Mister Miracle: mobility and timely escapes
Mister Miracle’s escape-artist identity offers a strong foundation for a mobility specialist. Rather than winning fights through sheer damage, a hypothetical version could slip out of danger, evade a major enemy ability, or help an ally break free from pressure. That would create opportunities for clutch plays while giving opponents a fair challenge: they would need to anticipate where he can escape, not simply chase his health bar. This is an imagined design direction.
7. Swamp Thing: a different scale of battlefield control
Swamp Thing could bring a slower, more imposing presence to the roster. Plant growth might serve as a speculative way to shape space—blocking a route, discouraging enemies from holding an area, or protecting teammates around a contested point. His size and silhouette would also give the roster a character whose rhythm and battlefield presence differ from agile fighters. Area denial or tank-like durability are possibilities for a pitch, not established abilities in a game.

Why these seven make a more varied roster
The value of this group is the contrast among them. Blue Beetle suggests adaptable technology; Vixen, changing animal traits; Zatanna, magic and control; Plastic Man, elasticity and disruption; Booster Gold, gadgets and protection; Mister Miracle, escapes and rescue; and Swamp Thing, imposing space control. Together they could create different movement patterns, ranges, and kinds of team utility rather than seven versions of the same damage-focused hero.

These characters have also surfaced in individual reader suggestions for a hypothetical DC game in the style of Marvel Rivals, including ideas such as Booster Gold as support and Swamp Thing as a tank or support. Those comments are examples of fan speculation, not a poll, a consensus, or evidence of developer plans.
