They’re editorial picks—not an official ranking—and each entry identifies how to access it. Availability and current terms can vary by region and device, so check the game’s App Store listing before downloading.

Arcade is a subscription catalog, not a ranking: Apple describes it as containing over 200 premium games, with new games and updates added weekly. A subscription supports up to six family members and Arcade games have no ads or in-app purchases. Subscribers can download and play available games without an additional per-game charge while subscribed; the games available depend on the device. Apple’s Arcade overview and Apple Support’s Arcade guide explain the model. Check Apple for current pricing and regional availability.
The list below mixes Arcade games and individually downloaded titles, with different kinds of play in mind. Check each listing for current access terms, device compatibility and controller support. A controller is optional; Apple says a controller icon on a game’s product page indicates support on that Apple device.

You don’t need a controller to play iPad games, and support differs by title. Apple says the game’s App Store product page shows controller compatibility for that device. If you already own a DualSense controller, Apple’s iPadOS 26 feature guide documents pairing it with iPad over USB-C; that does not mean every game supports it. Read Apple’s iPadOS 26 feature guide.
Finding and downloading games
- Browse: Open Apple’s Games app or the App Store on iPad and search for the title. Apple says iPhone and iPad App Store games are available in the Games app; availability can still vary by country or region.
- Check access: Look at the product page to see whether the game is included with Apple Arcade, requires a purchase, or is free to download with optional purchases or ads. Don’t assume that different editions have the same terms.
- Check compatibility and controls: Confirm the listing supports your device and look for the controller indicator if you plan to use one.
- Download: For an Arcade title, sign in with an active subscription and download the game if it is available on your device. For other games, follow the listing’s purchase or download option.
