Why did NCSOFT report more than 400,000?
NCSOFT said peak concurrent players exceeded 400,000 at global launch, in its October 6, 2026 launch announcement. That broader company claim and SteamDB’s 397,905 figure cover different platform scopes, so they are not contradictory counts of Steam players.
AION 2 launched globally through both Steam and NCSOFT’s PURPLE platform. Inven Global reported that players on the two services share global servers, while SteamDB’s chart tracks Steam activity rather than PURPLE users. The platform distinction is the key to comparing the figures.
