How do you save in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
For a manual save, open the Pause Menu > System > Save. Capcom says the game also autosaves when you enter a new area or rest at an inn. Why can’t you save during a fight?
Saving is unavailable while you are in a battle with an enemy. Capcom’s FAQ states: “However, you cannot save while you are in a battle with an enemy.” Wait until combat ends before trying the System menu save command.
Do not exit the game or power off the console while the save icon is displayed. Wait for the indicator to disappear so the game can finish writing its save data.

What does “Load from Last Inn Rest” mean?
It refers to the last time your Arisen rested at an inn or dwelling. It is distinct from simply loading the most recent manual save or autosave, although Capcom’s accessible FAQ does not provide a technical explanation of how the records are stored internally.
Does camping count as an inn rest?
No. Capcom explicitly says that camping is excluded from the Last Inn Rest option. Resting at a campsite does not update the inn-or-dwelling rest that this menu choice refers to.

Are there now three save types?
A Steam Community announcement search-result excerpt describes a planned or announced system with three save types—Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save—and says loading from an inn would no longer delete other save data. The announcement page could not be inspected, and Capcom’s accessible all-platform FAQ still describes manual and autosaved data sharing one slot. Before following instructions that depend on three separate save types, check the options shown in your in-game menu and a current Capcom update note for your platform. Do not assume the Steam announcement excerpt describes every current console or PC version.

Can you back up Dragon’s Dogma 2 save data?
For Xbox Series X|S, Capcom says players can back up save data by uploading it to Xbox cloud service servers. See Capcom’s Xbox Series X|S FAQ for its platform-specific guidance. That answer does not establish the equivalent backup steps for PlayStation 5 or Steam, and a cloud backup should not be treated as a guarantee that lost data can be recovered.
