The Store lists it as a PS4 game that is playable on PS5 through backward compatibility—not as a native PS5 upgrade.
Is Sekiro a PS5 game?
No. The US PlayStation Store listing identifies Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – Game of the Year Edition as a PS4 release, dated March 22, 2019, and says it is playable on PS5. The listing also warns that some PS4 features may be absent when played on PS5.
That wording means the PS4 version can run on PS5 using backward compatibility. It does not establish a separate PS5 product, PS5-version entitlement, or dedicated upgrade for Sekiro. PlayStation’s backward-compatibility guidance treats playing PS4 games on PS5 separately from upgrading eligible PS4 games to PS5 versions.
What version can you play on PS5?
The supported product identified by the official Store is the PS4 Game of the Year Edition. If you already own that PS4 edition, the Store listing says it is playable on PS5. If buying a copy, look for the PS4 edition; do not assume that purchase includes a distinct PS5 upgrade. Retail stock, prices, and the terms for any particular retailer listing are not established here.

What performance should you expect?
The official PlayStation pages cited here do not specify Sekiro’s resolution or frame rate on PS5. “Playable on PS5” confirms compatibility, not a particular performance target. Without a source that directly documents Sekiro’s PS5 performance, an exact resolution or frame-rate figure is not established.
Does Sekiro need an internet connection?
Activision describes Sekiro as a single-player, third-person action-adventure game with RPG elements, developed by FromSoftware. Its support page says an internet connection is not required to play, though one is needed for updates. Activision’s game page identifies PS4 and Xbox One as platforms.
