Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The Precinct has 20 stolen Averno City Museum artifacts, each in a locked safebox or briefcase somewhere in the city. Every box opens with a four-digit code. The 2025 guides from Dot Esports and Insider Gaming report the same district-and-code pairings, so the fastest route is to go district by district, find the case, and enter the code from the table below. Collecting the full set unlocks the A Sharp Mind achievement or trophy.
Before you start
- The districts and codes below come from 2025 guides. Dot Esports lists all 20 pairings, Insider Gaming lists 14 of the codes, and a walkthrough by The Game Slayer supplies most of the on-site landmarks. None of these were checked against a current game build, so treat the landmarks as descriptions from those guides.
- Some 2026 coverage says box contents are randomized. Read the section on mismatched items before assuming a box holds a specific object.
All 20 artifacts by district
Codes are entered at the locked case. Where a guide did not describe a landmark for a box, the table says so.
| # | Artifact | District | Code | Landmark cue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | St. Harry’s Cellar Key | Tutorial / Mercer Heights | 4321 | Story quest behind the bank, by a dumpster near graffiti |

| 3 | Mummified Big Toe | Haddonfield Point | 8241 | Fountain and tree area |
| 4 | Sanguis Jewel | Chinatown | 1525 | Rooftop near Chow’s Gems and Watches; clue by the air-conditioning units |
| 5 | 17th Century Compass | Litchfield | 2020 | Dirty alley and fenced area |
| 6 | St. Harry’s Fishing Hat | Northern Springwood | 1848 | Alley behind a building, near an enclosed dumpster |
| 7 | The Last Knife of the Averno Forge | Brookhaven | 1009 | Near a red wall and an exit-sign stairway |
| 8 | Wooden Idol | Northern Boddicker Yard | 1524 | Not stated for this yard |
| 9 | Undeciphered Stone Tablet | Ramona | 1122 | Blue container beside a ladder-accessible rooftop |
| 10 | Ankylosaurus Skull | Slipwater Yard | 3317 | Behind a fenced area, near a red truck |
| 11 | Kentrosaurus Spike | Southern Bayside Strip | 2300 | Not stated |
| 12 | Crude Harpoon Tip | Northern Bayside Strip | 5432 | Behind Dutchies |
| 13 | Fake Averno Diamond | Southern Boddicker Yard | 9111 | Not stated |

| 15 | The Iron Claw | Carver Port | 2421 | Under a large blue crane |
| 16 | ACPD Police Sap | Dutch Exchange | 1230 | Rooftop reached by a ladder |
| 17 | Henry Fisher’s Fingerprint | Jonasville | 2467 | A hard-to-see ladder leading to a rooftop |
| 18 | Silver Doubloon | West Bay Bridge / South of Little Italy | 2580 | Not stated for this pairing |
| 19 | Pirate Telescope | Serenity Park | 1978 | Two dumpsters near a clue |
| 20 | Warhurst’s Ring | Southern Springwood | 1999 | Fenced area near a dumpster |
How to open a safebox
- Travel to the district in the table. If the tutorial case is still available, start with St. Harry’s Cellar Key in Mercer Heights, which is a story quest rather than a free-roaming find.
- Search near the locked case for a sticky note, a wall note, or an environmental clue. Guides describe two common puzzle types: simple arithmetic, and facts drawn from the game world.
- Solve the clue to get the four-digit code, or enter the code from the table directly if you want to skip the puzzle.
- If you cannot find the case at street level, check the rooftop and access routes listed below.
Boxes on rooftops and in hard-to-reach spots
Several boxes sit above street level. Look for ladders, stairs, or fire escapes at the locations the guides name:
- Chinatown (Sanguis Jewel): reached by a rooftop route.
- Ramona (Undeciphered Stone Tablet): a ladder leads to the rooftop.
- Northern Springwood and Jonasville (Henry Fisher’s Fingerprint): a rooftop route, with a hard-to-see ladder in Jonasville.
- Boddicker Yard: a ladder beyond a fence, with the guides not specifying which yard it serves.
- Dutch Exchange (ACPD Police Sap): a rooftop reached by a ladder.
- Little Italy: a repair-shop rooftop, which the walkthrough describes as the Little Italy clue area.
When the item inside is different
A 2026 Patch Crazy article says artifact contents are distributed randomly among safeboxes. The 2025 guides instead pair each named artifact with a district. The available sources do not explain whether this reflects a patch, a game mode, a save variation, or an error. If a box you open holds a different item, the district and code in the table are still the best guide to finding and opening that box. Do not assume that every player will find a specific object in a specific box.

Codes to check
The Carlito code is 1874. Patch Crazy prints it as 187, which is a truncated value; both 2025 guides list 1874.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Completing the set
Dot Esports and Insider Gaming, both writing in 2025, report that retrieving all 20 artifacts unlocks the A Sharp Mind achievement or trophy. Some guides suggest returning to the precinct or the quest giver afterward. Those guides do not say whether this step is required, so if the achievement does not pop after your 20th box, check your quest log for a remaining turn-in before assuming a box was missed.
