To get the Triple Bypass legendary repkit in Borderlands 4, you first need to progress far enough to unlock Abandoned Auger Mines. That requires reaching Terminus Range and completing the main campaign mission “Shadow of the Mountain.” Once that is done, The Claim, an Abandoned Auger Mine in the Dissected Plateau area of the Fadefields near Zadra’s Backup Plan fast-travel point, becomes available. The Backhive waits at the bottom of the mine. Defeating it is the route to the item, and the nearby Encore machine lets you reset the encounter and try again.
What you need before you can reach The Claim
Access depends on story progress rather than a side objective. Published guides from PC Gamer (2025) and Nerd’s Chalk agree that the gate is the campaign mission “Shadow of the Mountain,” which sits after you reach Terminus Range. Mobalytics (2025) describes the same route. Until that mission is complete, the Abandoned Auger Mines, including The Claim, should not be open to you.

- Reach Terminus Range in the main campaign.
- Complete the mission “Shadow of the Mountain.”
- Confirm Abandoned Auger Mines is accessible before heading to the Fadefields.
If you cannot find the mine after completing the mission, check your mission log and fast-travel points before assuming something is broken. Guides from 2025 describe this gate, so a later patch could have changed it.
Where to find The Claim
The Claim is located in the Dissected Plateau region of the Fadefields. Zadra’s Backup Plan is the fast-travel point to use. From there, the mine is close by, and Nerd’s Chalk describes it as sitting near Zadra’s Hideout. Fast travel to Zadra’s Backup Plan, then search the immediate area on foot rather than traveling farther into the plateau.

Getting into the mine
Nerd’s Chalk describes a route that requires you to pass through a wall at a dead end near Zadra’s Hideout. The mine itself is not a simple walk-in: it contains combat encounters, poisonous water that damages you if you stand in it, and platforming sections that you need to clear to reach the boss. Expect to spend time on movement as well as on fights, and keep your health and any healing items ready before you descend.
Boss fight: The Backhive
The Backhive sits at the end of the mine and is the only target for the Triple Bypass drop in the guides. Nerd’s Chalk gives the most detailed breakdown of its behavior, and the points below reflect that description.

Ground stomps and shockwaves
The boss stomps the ground to create shockwaves. Move out of the area before the stomp lands, and do not stand still close to the boss when it begins an attack.
Charges
The Backhive charges at the player. Dodge sideways or away from the line of the charge rather than trying to tank it, since the attack is designed to pull you out of position.

Kratch adds
Periodically, the boss spawns Kratch enemies. Deal with them as they appear, and avoid letting them surround you while you are also avoiding the boss’s stomps and charges.
Poisonous water
The arena includes poisonous water. Keep off it during the fight, because standing in it adds damage on top of the boss’s attacks. Use the edges of the room and the platforms to stay clear.

Farming the Triple Bypass with the Encore machine
PC Gamer (2025) and Mobalytics (2025) both report a nearby Encore machine that resets the encounter. After you defeat The Backhive, use the Encore machine to reset it and fight again. Repeat until the item drops. The drop is not guaranteed on any single kill, and the published guides do not give a drop rate or a number of runs that will produce it, so plan for several attempts rather than a fixed count.
Because each loop goes through the mine approach and the boss, the cycle is longer than a single fight. If you are farming for multiple repkits, plan your session around the walk from Zadra’s Backup Plan and the platforming, not just the boss.

What the Triple Bypass does
The Triple Bypass is a legendary repkit. Its Heart Pump effect is reported as three charges, with a 30% chance to restore a charge on a kill. Those are game-mechanic values as described by PC Gamer (2025) and Mobalytics (2025), not statistics from a study or a population survey. The effect may change with a patch, so confirm the wording in your own inventory if the numbers differ.
What is not established
All of this guidance comes from secondary gaming guides, not an official publisher walkthrough. The route is consistent across PC Gamer, Nerd’s Chalk, and Mobalytics, but the boss tactics rely mainly on the Nerd’s Chalk description. No drop rate is established. If a later patch changes the mission gate, the mine entrance, the boss behavior, the drop table, or the Encore reset, the in-game text and your own observations should take priority over the descriptions here.
