Epic’s April 23, 2024 list names specific PS4 and Xbox One Fender Jaguar and Stratocaster controllers, plus platform-specific PDP Riffmaster models; it does not confirm support for every older Rock Band guitar.
Fortnite Festival guitar compatibility by model and platform
Epic published this compatibility table on April 23, 2024, alongside its Season 3 announcement. “Listed” means Epic named the controller for that platform; it is not a blanket guarantee for other versions of the same guitar.

Epic’s announcement says, “You can now use your Rock Band 4 guitar controllers to go all out on new Pro Lead and Pro Bass song parts on the Main Stage on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC!” The accompanying model list narrows that statement to the controllers and platform combinations shown above. Epic Games’ April 23, 2024 announcement is the cited list; it should not be read as an exhaustive, newly updated 2026 inventory.
How to check whether your old guitar is one of the listed models
- Find the model and console version. Check the label on the guitar or its original packaging. Confirm whether it is the Rock Band 4 Fender Jaguar or Fender Stratocaster for PS4 or Xbox One, rather than relying only on the Rock Band name.
- Match the platform column. Epic lists the PS4 RB4 guitars for PlayStation, and the Xbox One RB4 guitars for Xbox. A guitar listed for one console family should not be assumed to work on the other.
- Check the PC condition if applicable. Epic’s table specifies the Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 for the Xbox One RB4 Jaguar and Stratocaster on PC. That requirement applies to those listed Xbox guitars; it is not a universal adapter fix for other legacy instruments.
- For a different model, treat support as unconfirmed. Epic’s cited table does not establish compatibility for every older Rock Band or Guitar Hero controller.
Riffmaster is a current listed option, with separate platform versions
If you want a currently marketed controller that Epic lists, the PDP Riffmaster is included in the PlayStation and Xbox entries as separate versions. Choose the version made for your target platform rather than assuming one model works across consoles. Epic lists the Xbox Riffmaster for PC as well; the manufacturer’s current Xbox Riffmaster product page describes compatibility with Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4, and with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11.

Can an unlisted guitar work on PC?
Possibly, through FestivalInstrumentMapper, an unofficial beta project whose documentation says it maps a variety of older Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments as Xbox One guitars. The project warns about bugs and provides no warranty or guarantee, so its existence does not establish that a particular guitar will work. It is not official Epic support.
