eFootball 2023 v2.2.0 was announced for release on 16 November 2022. KONAMI’s official patch-notes page confirms the version and details the changes, but it is undated; the release date comes from a contemporaneous community post reproducing the announcement. KONAMI’s Season 2 announcement, dated 17 November, confirms that the associated Football Festival content had begun by then.
What platforms received eFootball 2023 v2.2.0?
KONAMI’s patch notes cover PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, iOS and Android. The notes separate some fixes and content by platform, so not every item below applies to every version.
Gameplay changes
Cursor switching and player selection
KONAMI adjusted Assisted cursor switching so it more readily selects a nearby player suited to the play, and added a Semi-Auto option equivalent to the pre-update Assisted setting. Players who had Assisted selected had that setting changed to Semi-Auto after installing v2.2.0.
Passing and Manual Pass Level 3
Low-pass speed was increased slightly overall to address passes that were excessively slow in certain defensive-line or pressure situations. KONAMI also made situational adjustments and changed one-touch pass behavior to reflect the ball’s resiliency.

At Manual Pass Level 3, low-pass speed became fully dependent on the Power Gauge. Unlike Levels 1 and 2, Level 3 no longer receives additional speed assistance. Level 4 already made all pass variations fully dependent on Power Gauge input.
Dribbling, shots and positioning
- Dribbling: KONAMI said transitions between regular and dash dribbling would be more responsive, directional input would be reflected better, small turns at high speed would have less inertia, and players would lose balance less often in body contact. These are the developer’s stated adjustments, not quantified performance results.
- Dipping and rising shots: Accuracy was adjusted for the Dipping Shot and Rising Shot skills. Regular shots following rebounds could also take a sharp dipping trajectory; KONAMI said players with the Dipping Shot skill would have greater accuracy on those shots.
- Positioning: Runs into open spaces were made easier, centrally placed players were less likely to drift toward the flank, and far-side fullbacks were positioned more defensively.
New features and content
Modes, missions and menus
The v2.2.0 notes list a Match Pass, Standard Player Tickets, VS AI matches in Challenge Events, team changes in Authentic Team Challenge Events, player-entry conditions for Dream Team Challenge Events, and Debut Missions. KONAMI also updated menus and filters and added the Semi-Auto cursor option.

Stadiums and presentation updates
For console and PC, KONAMI added Wembley Stadium and U-Power Stadium. The notes also list updates to team, player and manager data and images; uniforms; stadium graphics; advertising boards; media backdrops; staff vests; corner flags; cleats; commentary; national anthems; cinematics; animations; and photos. Mobile has a separate asset list, which does not include the two stadium additions or every console/PC asset category.
Fixes and general improvements
The patch notes enumerate fixes by platform rather than presenting one universal list. Examples include application crashes, stadium-selection display mismatches, uniform selection, own-goal handling on certain restarts, substitutions, player-card display, training issues, and text or localization errors. Xbox-specific items include Friend Match alerts and invitations.
