The Lookout Landing tablet starts Messages from an Ancient Era. After meeting Wortsworth, photograph the 12 remaining stone tablets—mostly on star-shaped sky islands—and show the images to him at his research station in Kakariko Village. That makes 13 tablets in the full quest count when the starter tablet is included.
How to start Messages from an Ancient Era
Progress through Regional Phenomena and complete a temple or dungeon. If the quest does not trigger yet, continue the main story and check Lookout Landing again; guides differ on the exact point at which Wortsworth appears.
- At Lookout Landing, find the tablet that has fallen into the pond and speak with Wortsworth.
- Meet Wortsworth at his research station in Kakariko Village. He explains that the tablets are written in Ancient Hyrulean.
- Photograph the 12 other tablets and show the images to Wortsworth. You can submit photos one at a time or several together.
The quest count can be confusing: the Lookout Landing tablet is the starter, not one of the 12 photo targets below.

Look for the distinctive flower- or star-shaped islands in the sky. The routes below identify a nearby launch point and travel direction; use your in-game map to pinpoint the island, since published coordinate conventions can differ.

What to do if a tablet has fallen
You do not have to photograph every tablet in the sky. Some fall after you approach or reach their islands, so take a picture before they drop if you can, or search the ground below. For the Drenan Highlands tablet, follow it into the chasm and use light to make the photo easier to register. Wortsworth accepts an image taken while the tablet is still airborne or after it lands.
Quest rewards
Wortsworth gives a Silver Rupee for each accepted tablet photo. After you submit all 12, the quest-specific completion reward is the Zonai Survey Team Fabric for the paraglider; it is not found in a tablet chest.
