The G7 Pro connects to each host in a different way. On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, use the included USB-C cable. On a Windows PC, use either the same cable or the 2.4G receiver. On Android, use Bluetooth. Wireless modes are not the answer for Xbox, and Bluetooth is not the recommended route for a PC.

The included cable and receiver are the connection accessories GameSir describes for the standard G7 Pro, so you do not need to buy a separate cable or dongle for these routes.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
GameSir’s official setup instructions say the standard G7 Pro supports a wired Xbox connection only. Its FAQ also states that several named tri-mode editions require a wired connection on Xbox. Do not try the receiver or Bluetooth with an Xbox console.
- Connect the included USB-C cable to the controller and to the console.
- Press the Xbox button briefly to power on the controller.
- Confirm that the Xbox indicator is solid.
Windows PC
A PC gives you two valid routes. Choose the cable when you want the simplest and most stable setup, and the receiver when you want to play without a cable running to the machine.

Wired USB-C
- Connect the included Type-C cable between the controller and the computer.
- Press the Xbox button briefly.
- Confirm that the Xbox indicator is solid.
2.4G receiver
- Insert the 2.4G receiver into a USB port on the PC.
- Move the controller’s mode switch to 2.4G.
- Press the Xbox button and wait for the controller to connect.
- Confirm that the Xbox indicator is solid.
Android
Android uses Bluetooth. GameSir states that the G7 Pro’s Bluetooth mode uses HID and is designed for Android, so use it on phones and tablets rather than as your PC connection.
- Move the controller’s rear mode switch to Bluetooth.
- Press the Xbox button briefly to power on the controller.
- On the phone, open the Bluetooth device list and select GameSir-G7 Pro.
- If the controller does not connect, press and hold the controller’s pairing button until it re-enters pairing status, then select GameSir-G7 Pro again.
- Confirm that the Xbox indicator is solid.
Troubleshooting connection problems
- Android pairing does not start: Hold the pairing button until the controller re-enters pairing mode, then choose the controller again from the Bluetooth list.
- Pairing still fails: Restart both the controller and the host, then try the connection again. GameSir’s FAQ recommends this step.
- Wired connection seems fine but the controller is not detected: Push the USB-C connector fully into the controller. GameSir’s FAQ warns that the cable guard can make a partly inserted connector feel fully seated, so check the connection at the controller end before assuming a fault.
Edition differences that change the requirements
The setup steps above apply to the standard G7 Pro. Some editions document different requirements, so check the manual that came with your controller before you rely on a specific system version.

- Zenless Zone Zero edition: Its official manual lists Android 8.0 or later, Bluetooth 5.3, and Windows 10 or 11. The general setup instructions do not state those minimums for every G7 Pro variant, so treat them as edition-specific.
- G7 Pro 8K PC models: GameSir documents these as a PC-specific product with connection instructions that differ from the Xbox-oriented standard G7 Pro. Follow the instructions for the exact model you own.
If you are buying a controller and want to confirm which edition you are looking at, compare the model name on the box and the manual against the setup steps above before you connect it.
