Content note: This walkthrough reveals the route’s prerequisites and required choices, and following it changes Chapter 2’s story. It avoids describing later story events, but it is not literally spoiler-free. The community-maintained Deltarune Wiki calls it the Weird Route; “Snowgrave Route” is the familiar name drawn from Noelle’s spell. This guide follows that documentation, not an official developer walkthrough.
Before you start: choose which Chapter 2 path you want
The Snowgrave/Weird Route starts only after Noelle joins Kris in Cyber City. Ordinary choices before that point are not listed as initiation steps. Once the route begins, its requirements are easy to miss: you must use Noelle’s IceShock to freeze available enemies, complete a specific ring sequence, and command SnowGrave in the Berdly fight. The community route page documents 19 encounters before Berdly’s second battle and additional encounters in places that are normally hazards.

| Consideration | Standard Chapter 2 path | Weird Route |
|---|---|---|
| Prerequisites | No route-specific initiation sequence is documented. | Begins after Noelle joins Kris in Cyber City; the documented enemy and ring requirements then apply. |
| Backtracking and missability | No route-specific backtracking sequence is documented. | Requires the FreezeRing dialogue sequence, delaying the first forcefield puzzle, and returning to the dog dumpster for the ThornRing. |
| Combat commands | No route-specific IceShock or SnowGrave commands are required. | Freeze available enemies with Noelle’s IceShock; in the Berdly fight, repeatedly select SnowGrave through Noelle’s protests. |
| Story choice | Use this path if you do not want to pursue the documented altered route. | Use this path only if you want the route’s altered Chapter 2 story. |
| Separate save | A separate save can help preserve another playthrough option. | A separate save is a practical precaution, not a developer requirement. |
The table describes route-specific requirements, not a “correct” or “wrong” story. Keep a separate save if you want a practical way to preserve another playthrough option; this is a player precaution, not an official instruction.

1. Begin after Noelle joins
Start applying the route requirements when Noelle joins Kris in Cyber City. In each available enemy encounter, use Noelle’s IceShock to freeze the enemy. Do not spare it, and do not let another attack deliver the final blow. The route documentation also notes added encounters in places that are normally hazards, so do not assume every encounter appears on a standard path.
2. Get the FreezeRing from the Addison
At the Addison, follow the dialogue answers specified on the community route page to obtain the FreezeRing. This is a required route checkpoint, not optional shopping. The documentation does not reproduce the exact answer text in the evidence available for this guide, so do not guess: consult the linked route page at the Addison rather than selecting answers at random.

Ring checkpoint: Acquire the FreezeRing before completing the first forcefield puzzle. Leave that puzzle incomplete until you have the ring.
3. Choose “Proceed” and keep freezing available enemies
When the game offers “Proceed,” choose it. Continue using Noelle’s IceShock to freeze available enemies; do not substitute sparing or another character’s finishing attack. The community documentation counts 19 encounters before Berdly’s second battle, but that is its route requirement count, not an independently published statistic.

4. Return to the dog dumpster for the ThornRing
Before the Berdly fight, freeze the remaining available enemies, then backtrack to the dog dumpster and buy the ThornRing. Equip it to Noelle. The route documentation warns that inventory capacity can matter: preserve at least two free weapon slots before the roller-coaster section if you are following its documented conditions.

Equip to NoelleInventory callout: Leave at least two weapon slots free before the roller-coaster section if following the wiki’s documented route conditions.
5. Use SnowGrave in the Berdly fight
During the fight, command Noelle to cast SnowGrave. When she protests, keep selecting SnowGrave rather than switching to another action. The ThornRing reduces the spell’s listed TP cost from 200% to 100%, making the required cast usable under the documented conditions. Defeating Berdly by another method aborts the route.
Lock-in checkpoint: The route documentation says using SnowGrave on Berdly locks the route for the rest of Chapter 2. If you do not want that change, stop before issuing the command.

Pictures and version note
The diagrams here are original schematic maps; they are not screenshots and do not claim to pinpoint every encounter. For room-by-room visuals, use the maps and route documentation on the Deltarune Wiki’s Weird Route page. That is community-maintained documentation, not official developer guidance, and route mechanics may be updated. Check the game version shown in your copy against any version notes on that page before relying on fine-grained route conditions.
Platform and save-transfer note (checked October 4, 2026)
The official DELTARUNE FAQ lists PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It says Switch and Switch 2 purchases can be downloaded across those systems without additional cost except in Japan, and that PS4/PS5 are Cross-Buy. The FAQ also describes demo-save import and console-generation transfer limits. Its current status says a physical edition is “Someday, probably, but not yet.” These availability details can change; check the FAQ for the latest platform and save-transfer information.
