Acer’s Atlas 8 announcement describes the 8-inch, 1,920 × 1,200, 120 Hz panel and an internal-storage ceiling of 1 TB. Its Atlas 7 announcement describes the 7-inch, 1,920 × 1,080, 120 Hz panel and up to an 80 Wh battery. What games can an Atlas with Arc G3 Extreme run?
An Atlas is a Windows PC, so its potential library includes Windows games from PC launchers and eligible Game Pass titles. That does not mean that every Windows game will install, start, or perform acceptably. Acer conditions game support on the title’s requirements, drivers, anti-cheat software, and other compatibility factors.
Use this game-by-game checklist
- Read the Windows requirements. Check the game’s minimum operating-system, processor, graphics, memory, and storage requirements against the exact Atlas SKU.
- Check current Intel graphics-driver support. A game may require a driver version that is newer than the one installed at first boot, or it may have a known issue with a particular driver branch.
- Confirm launcher and account requirements. Steam, another PC launcher, and Game Pass can have different sign-in, installation, or subscription rules.
- Verify anti-cheat compatibility. Competitive games may require an anti-cheat service that behaves differently after a driver, Windows, or firmware update.
- Check controller support. A game can launch successfully yet need a control remapping, a keyboard shortcut, or a launcher setting before its controls work well on a handheld.
- Plan settings for the actual panel. Resolution, refresh rate, upscaling, and a game’s quality preset affect the workload. Do not infer a universal frame rate from the processor’s core count.
Intel identifies XeSS 3 support for the platform, but the feature appears only in supported games and configurations. A title must expose the relevant XeSS option, and driver and game versions can affect whether it is available. Acer’s product information does not establish a frame-rate result for any named game on an Atlas SKU.

Does the Acer Arc G3 Extreme handheld run full Windows?
Yes. Acer specifies Windows 11 Home for both Atlas 7 and Atlas 8. They are Windows handheld PCs rather than devices limited to a proprietary console store, so users can install compatible desktop launchers, utilities, browsers, and peripherals.
Windows access does not remove the normal PC requirements. A Game Pass title remains subject to the applicable subscription, offer, region, plan, and changing catalog. A particular game should not be described as included with every purchase. How much storage does an Atlas with G3 Extreme have?
Acer lists up to 1 TB of internal storage for the Atlas family, using one PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD slot. “Up to” is important: it is a family maximum, not a capacity promised for every configuration.
A documented Canadian Atlas 8 G3 Extreme configuration, model PA08-I51-G9Y7, lists a 512 GB SSD and 24 GB of RAM. That SKU demonstrates why the exact model number matters; it should not be relabeled as a universal 1 TB or 24 GB specification for all Atlas systems.

Can you add storage with a card?
Yes. The family specification includes a UHS-II microSD reader, making a UHS-II microSD card the directly matched removable-storage option. Both families provide two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which create a separate route for a dock or external storage. Port support does not by itself establish the performance of a particular enclosure, dock, or external graphics setup; confirm the accessory’s requirements and the Atlas model’s documentation.
How long does the battery last?
The measurable Acer specification is battery capacity, not a universal number of gaming hours. Atlas 8 models list 60 Wh on select configurations and up to 80 Wh; the Atlas 7 announcement lists up to 80 Wh. Acer states that “Battery life and charging time still vary by configuration, power settings, usage, and other factors.”

Intel advertises as much as 11 hours for its G-series handheld platform, but the footnote describes a test on an MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ using three games at 1080p Low, applicable 2× upscaling, and specified power modes. - Set a restore and recovery option before changing drivers, storage, or performance utilities.
