What is After Inc?
After Inc is a post-apocalyptic strategy game from Ndemic Creations, the studio behind Plague Inc. Its setting imagines humanity rebuilding decades after the Necroa Virus has ravaged the world. It is fiction, not a real-world forecast: Ndemic said in its launch announcement that the game “is not based on any real-world situation” (Ndemic Creations).
The developer describes the game as “a unique blend of strategic simulation, survival city builder and ‘mini 4X’” (official game page). In practical terms, the premise is to lead a community through a hostile landscape and work toward rebuilding civilization.
What do you do in the game?
The central loop combines settlement management with exploration and expansion. You establish and develop a settlement, send people out to explore, scavenge resources, and make choices about the society taking shape. The world is dangerous, so survival and the longer-term goal of rebuilding are linked rather than separate.

Is After Inc a sequel to Plague Inc.?
It is connected to Plague Inc. through its fictional universe: the story takes place after the Necroa Virus apocalypse. Calling it a sequel is reasonable as shorthand for that narrative connection, but the game’s own identity is a settlement strategy and survival city-builder experience. Ndemic’s official description emphasizes that genre blend rather than presenting it as a direct continuation of the original game’s mechanics.

When did After Inc launch, and what is it called on PC?
The dates differ by announcement and platform listing. On March 5, 2025, Ndemic announced that After Inc: Revival would be available June 17, 2025 (announcement). The current Steam listing names the PC game After Inc: Revival and gives August 19, 2026 as its release date (Steam). The June 2025 date was the announced availability date; Steam’s page is the source for the PC release date.
What platforms is After Inc on?
Ndemic’s game page lists iPhone and iPad, Android, and PC via Steam. Steam uses the title After Inc: Revival, while the mobile game is referred to as After Inc on the developer’s platform information. Availability and naming are therefore best checked against the specific store listing for your device.

Those entries indicate continued activity, but the index alone does not establish which features are included or whether a particular update is available on every platform.
