Do both, but for different reasons. Complete available Duty Quests first when you need guaranteed Kina and Abyss Points or want chances at tickets. Then use your three daily Shugo Festival Reward Keys on the minigame in which you place most consistently. The Festival is the better short-session progression burst; Duty Quests are the more predictable currency package.
The short answer
Aion 2 does not have a single, provable reward-per-minute winner between the Shugo Festival and Daily Duty Quests. They pay different currencies, and Duty Quest time changes with the assigned objective. The Shugo Festival takes only a few minutes once you enter, but its best value depends on your placement and on whether the reward cards contain items you need. Duty Quests take an unstandardized amount of time, yet every qualifying quest pays the same guaranteed Kina and Abyss Points package and may add tickets for other activities.

Use the systems as a sequence rather than as competing chores. Finish the Duty Quests you can complete, join a Festival round when its schedule fits, and spend keys only on the minigame where you reliably finish high. Save cosmetic purchases for later unless collecting is your main goal; the Festival Shop’s early progression targets are Daevanion Crystals and then Stigma Shards.

Hourly registration and match length
The Shugo Festival opens every hour at :00 server time. Registration remains open for three minutes. After registration closes, one of 11 minigames runs for approximately 2.5 to 5 minutes. Participation costs nothing, so you can enter a round simply to practice or to compete for placement without committing a key.

“The Shugo Festival is AION 2’s hourly minigame event: every hour at :00 server time you get 3 minutes to gather, then one of 11 minigames that lasts 2.5 to 5 minutes.” — AION 2 Tier List team, updated October 12, 2026
The practical timing distinction is important: the event’s registration window is fixed, while the actual activity is short but variable. If you arrive after the three-minute registration period, you must wait for the next hourly opening. A round can therefore fit into a short play session, but only if you account for the schedule rather than treating it as an on-demand queue.
When a Reward Key is spent
You do not spend a key to enter. A Reward Key is consumed when you claim the post-game reward cards. Three keys refill each day, and the key pool is shared by every character on your server. That shared pool means changing characters does not create a second allowance.

Spending a key on a round in which you place well is generally better than allowing the bank to remain capped and wasting a future refill.
Placement controls the number of picks
One key pays for the complete card-selection stage. Your finishing position unlocks the number of cards you may pick, so a strong result increases the number of rolls obtained from the same key. This makes personal consistency more important than chasing a theoretical best minigame: the activity in which you regularly place near the top can produce more useful selections than one in which you often finish low.

What Festival rewards contain
The level-45 reward floor
At level 45 and above, each selected card includes 50 Centuryroot Tokens and 700 Enhance Stones as basic rewards. Those amounts are attached to each card you select, not to the event entry itself. Since placement determines how many cards are available, placement directly changes how many basic bundles you receive from one key.
Additional rolls can contain gear, Odyle, refining stones and Abyss Points. These are variable additions rather than a guaranteed package on every card. The Festival therefore combines a known token-and-stone floor with an uncertain selection of extra progression items.

Reported high-value additions
Raid Relay highlights, for level-45 characters, include 30–100 extra Centuryroot Tokens, 1,200 Enhance Stones and 800 Abyss Points. Those figures are reported reward highlights, not a promise that every card selection produces the full set. Treat them as possible upside when deciding whether a key is worth spending, rather than as a fixed per-minute rate.
How to spend Centuryroot Tokens
The Festival Shop turns Centuryroot Tokens into longer-term progression. The recommended order is:
- Daevanion Crystals: make these the first purchases when your aim is character progression.
- Stigma Shards: buy these after the early crystal needs are covered.
- Wings, artworks and skins: choose these later, or earlier if collection and appearance matter more to you than power growth.
This order is a priority framework, not a requirement. A collector can rationally choose a cosmetic item, but a player trying to improve combat progression receives more immediate utility from the first two categories.

How Daily Duty Quests work
Unlock and shared daily limit
Duty Quests unlock at level 45. You may complete five per day, with the allowance shared across the server rather than duplicated per character. The assigned objective determines how long each one takes, so two players can spend different amounts of time completing their daily set.
Guaranteed payment on every rarity
Every Common, Rare and Epic Duty Quest guarantees 50,000 Kina and 1,000 Abyss Points. The guarantee is the reason Duty Quests are the safer choice when you need liquid currency or a predictable Abyss Point intake. Quest rarity does not remove that baseline payment.
Random reward slots
Beyond the guaranteed currencies, random reward slots can add one or more of the following:
- Nightmare Dungeon tickets
- Shugo Festival Reward Keys
- Ascension Trial tickets
- Unknown Fissure tickets
- Hidden Cube keys
- Odyle
- Enhance Stones
These slots give Duty Quests an indirect value that is easy to overlook. A quest can finance your current Kina and Abyss Point needs while also opening a later dungeon or trial run. Because the additional rewards are random, they should be treated as upside rather than included in a guaranteed daily budget.

Which activity is better for your time?
Choose the Festival for a short, repeatable session
If you have only a few minutes and can catch the registration window, the Festival is the efficient burst. The round itself is brief, entry is free, and one key converts a good placement into several card picks. This is especially attractive when your key bank is close to its cap or when you are actively saving for Daevanion Crystals and Stigma Shards.
Rank #4
The Festival’s efficiency is conditional. A player who regularly finishes near the bottom receives fewer picks, and the variable rolls may not match the player’s immediate build needs. In that situation, use the event for practice without automatically spending a key, then claim cards on the minigame where your results are strongest.
Choose Duty Quests for predictable currency
Duty Quests are the stronger choice when your current goal is Kina or Abyss Points. Their baseline is explicit for all three listed rarities, so you can plan around those currencies without estimating the value of a random card roll. They are also the better first stop when a Duty Quest’s objective is convenient or already overlaps with activities you intended to do.
Their weakness is time uncertainty. Without a published completion-time standard for each objective, no honest calculation can say that one Duty Quest always beats one Festival key per minute. A difficult assignment can consume much longer than a quick Festival round, while an easy assignment can be completed efficiently.
Use both when you want broad progression
For a complete daily loop, use Duty Quests to secure the guaranteed currency package and check whether a random slot grants more keys or a ticket. Use the Festival afterward for token-and-stone progression. The systems complement one another: one supplies predictable economy and Abyss Point income, while the other rewards performance and scheduled participation.

A practical daily routine
- Check level and allowances. At level 45 or higher, inspect your available Duty Quests and your shared Reward Key balance before choosing a character.
- Complete available Duty Quests. Prioritize objectives you can finish efficiently or that overlap with planned content. Record any tickets or extra keys from the random slots so they are not forgotten.
- Join a convenient Festival registration. Registration is free, so enter even when you are deciding whether to spend a key. The round also lets you identify which of the 11 minigames produces your best placements.
- Spend keys on your strongest minigame. Claim cards when your placement unlocks enough picks to justify the key, and use the daily refill before the bank reaches its cap.
- Convert tokens with a progression priority. Buy Daevanion Crystals first, Stigma Shards second, and cosmetics afterward unless collection is your primary objective.
Key-spending decisions that prevent waste
Track placement, not just completion
Keep a simple note of your finishing positions by minigame. The relevant question is not which activity looks most entertaining or has the highest theoretical payout; it is where you consistently unlock the most card picks. After several rounds, favor the minigame with the strongest personal results.

Separate practice from claiming
Because entry is free and the key is charged at card claim, you can learn the event without consuming the resource. Use an early round to understand the objective, then decide whether your placement and current inventory justify claiming the cards.
Protect the shared bank
All characters on the server draw from the same key pool. Do not assume an alternate character has a separate allowance, and do not leave the bank full when a refill is due. If you cannot attend the next scheduled round, spend a key before the cap is reached or accept that a refill may be lost.
Match the system to your current goal
| Your priority | First action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Kina for routine expenses | Duty Quest | The quest baseline includes a fixed Kina payment. |
| Abyss Points on a predictable schedule | Duty Quest | Every listed rarity guarantees Abyss Points. |
| Daevanion progression | Festival, then Festival Shop | Centuryroot Tokens can be directed to Daevanion Crystals. |
| Stigma advancement | Festival, after crystal needs | Stigma Shards are the next progression priority for token spending. |
| More dungeon or trial access | Duty Quest | Random slots can grant several types of activity tickets. |
| Very limited play window | Festival at the next registration | The minigame itself is short, provided you catch the hourly window. |
| Cosmetic or collection goals | Festival Shop items of your choice | Wings, artworks and skins become sensible purchases when appearance outranks power. |
Common mistakes and how to correct them
- Calling the Festival free and then forgetting the key. Entry costs nothing, but claiming cards consumes one key. Check the claim screen before confirming.
- Spending keys on every minigame equally. Placement controls card picks, so concentrate claims on the activity where you perform best.
- Treating reported highlights as guaranteed income. Extra tokens, stones and Abyss Points are possible additions, not a fixed bundle on every selection.
- Assuming character-specific allowances. Both the Festival key pool and Duty Quest completion allowance are shared at server level.
- Ignoring the hourly schedule. Missing the three-minute registration period means waiting for the next :00 opening.
- Buying cosmetics before progression items by default. If power growth is the goal, Daevanion Crystals and Stigma Shards provide the stated priority path.
- Declaring a universal reward-per-minute winner. Duty Quest objectives have no standardized published completion times, and the Festival’s value changes with placement and card rolls.
What can and cannot be measured
A precise comparison would require two missing pieces of information: standardized completion times for every Duty Quest objective and a complete expected-value table for every Festival minigame and placement. Those figures are not published in the available guidance. As a result, a claim such as “the Festival always pays more per minute” or “Duty Quests are always faster” would overstate the evidence.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →You can still make a sound personal comparison. Record how long your usual Duty Quest objectives take, note your Festival placement and number of card picks, and evaluate the currencies against your immediate goal. That produces a player-specific decision without pretending that Kina, Abyss Points, tokens, stones and tickets have one universal exchange rate.
Bottom-line decision
Start with Duty Quests when you need guaranteed Kina and Abyss Points or when a ticket would unlock valuable follow-up content. Use the Shugo Festival during its hourly window for a fast progression burst, and spend your three daily keys on the minigame in which you place highest. Keep the key bank from capping, then direct Centuryroot Tokens to Daevanion Crystals and Stigma Shards before cosmetics unless collecting is your priority.
