In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the three figures in the game’s amiibo series have different uses: Samus grants a temporary Health Shield and unlocks Vi-O-La’s radio, Samus & Vi-O-La tracks riding distance and unlocks vehicle skins, and Sylux provides easier access to a cinematic and plays voice lines. Other Metroid series amiibo can also trigger sounds.

What does the Samus amiibo do?
Scanning the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Series Samus amiibo grants a temporary bonus Health Shield once per day. Nintendo does not specify how long the shield lasts or whether it stacks with other effects.
The figure also unlocks a radio for Vi-O-La while exploring Sol Valley. After you finish the game, two additional tracks become available. Nintendo does not name the tracks or specify how to select them.

What does the Samus & Vi-O-La amiibo do?
This figure tracks the distance you travel on Vi-O-La and unlocks alternate Vi-O-La skins at certain milestones. Nintendo has not published the distances required, the number of milestones, or the names of the skins in its support guide, so those details cannot be confirmed from that source.
What does the Sylux amiibo do?
Sylux makes an in-game cinematic easier to access and plays voice lines. Nintendo Canada’s Sylux store listing specifies that the cinematic is in the gallery. “Easier access” does not mean the cinematic is exclusive to the amiibo.

Can you use older Metroid amiibo?
Nintendo says other Metroid series amiibo can be scanned to hear various sounds from the game. Its guide does not identify which older figures work or detail the sounds each one triggers. Check the figure in the game rather than assuming a specific model has a particular reward.

- Start Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and press the minus button while in-game to open the pause menu.
- Use L and R to navigate to the amiibo menu.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your figure.
Nintendo lists Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model in the supported-systems heading for its scanning instructions.
