The table describes Amazon’s current plan framing, not a permanent catalog promise. Amazon’s Terms of Use say Standard is a Prime benefit for eligible members and Premium is a paid Luna subscription. The Terms also allow Amazon to offer one or more Premium billing plans, so the offer and renewal details shown on your account take precedence over a generic price remembered from another market or date.

What Luna Standard includes

Standard access depends on two conditions: you must have an eligible, active Prime membership, and you must accept Luna’s Terms. Standard is therefore best understood as a Prime benefit rather than a no-conditions free tier. If your Prime eligibility ends, your Standard access can end with it.

A changing cloud-game selection
Standard supplies a curated selection of games that Amazon rotates. The selection is designed to be played through Luna’s cloud service, so the subscription is about access to the included catalog rather than ownership of permanent copies. Amazon’s overview has used Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Hogwarts Legacy as examples associated with Standard. Those examples identify the type of content Amazon has highlighted; they do not guarantee that either title will still be included when you check your account.

GameNight is part of the Luna experience
GameNight is a local multiplayer collection for friends and family playing together in the living room. It is not described as a separately paid Luna tier. Amazon’s examples include Angry Birds Flock Party, Draw & Guess, Ticket to Ride, Exploding Kittens 2, Clue and Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg. The exact GameNight lineup can also change, so check the current Luna listing before planning an event around one game.
What Luna Premium adds
An expanded library, not a different way to play
Premium includes Standard and expands the games available through the service. It does not require a dedicated Luna console: Luna remains a cloud-gaming service accessed on compatible devices. The deciding difference is the breadth of the available catalog.
Amazon’s September 21, 2026 overview names Sonic Superstars, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Batman: Arkham Knight as Premium examples. As with Standard examples, treat these as dated illustrations of the expanded library. Amazon states that subscription content and availability can change by time and location.
The U.S. price is a reference point, not a global price
Amazon lists Premium at $9.99 per month in the United States. The same overview cautions that prices may vary by territory. Your local Amazon account may show a different currency, amount, tax treatment or billing offer. Confirm the checkout and subscription-management screen for your region before subscribing.

Automatic renewal matters
Premium is a recurring subscription. Amazon says it renews automatically unless you cancel before a charge. Amazon may change Premium prices; according to the Terms, a change generally applies from the next subscription period unless Amazon states otherwise. Save the renewal date shown in your account if you are subscribing for a particular game or a short period.
How to decide whether Premium is worth it
Start with the current game list
Make the decision from the titles you can actually access in your territory. A larger library has value only when it contains games you intend to play. Look for the plan label on the Luna game page and note whether a title is included in Standard, requires Premium, or is unavailable in your location.
Use the incremental-cost test
For an eligible Prime member, Standard does not add a separate Luna line item to the Prime membership. Premium adds the recurring amount displayed for your account; the U.S. reference is $9.99 per month. Compare that incremental cost with the number of Premium games you expect to play during the billing period. Do not count a title as a permanent purchase: access depends on its continued inclusion and on your subscription remaining active.

Consider how your household plays
If your main use is a living-room session with friends or family, GameNight may be the relevant feature, and it is available within the Standard experience described by Amazon. If one or more people specifically want the expanded-library titles, Premium may make sense for the months in which those games are available and interesting to your household.

Check the device before paying
A subscription is useful only if you can run Luna on a compatible device. Confirm compatibility first, especially if you plan to play on a television rather than a computer or mobile device. Amazon’s Terms identify compatible personal computers, streaming media players, smart TVs and mobile devices, while an AWS for Games article dated September 2, 2026 gives Fire TV Stick, compatible smart TV and web-browser access as examples.
Where you can play Luna
Supported device categories
- Personal computers: use a compatible computer and the supported web access described by Amazon.
- Web browsers: AWS for Games describes browser play as one route to Luna.
- Smart TVs: compatible models can run Luna directly; compatibility is model- and software-dependent.
- Streaming media players: a compatible player can provide TV access.
- Mobile devices: Amazon’s Terms include compatible mobile devices.
A Fire TV Stick is an optional access device, not a requirement for a Luna subscription. A compatible smart TV, computer, browser or another supported device may work instead. Amazon warns that compatibility requirements can change, so use the current device list attached to your account and region rather than relying on an old compatibility claim.
A practical setup sequence
- Confirm Prime status. If you intend to use Standard, verify that the Amazon account has an eligible, active Prime membership.
- Open Luna on the device you plan to use. Check whether the device, operating system and browser or TV software are currently supported.
- Review the catalog in your territory. Identify the games marked as included with Standard and the games available through Premium.
- Read the offer before subscribing. Confirm the displayed currency, monthly amount, renewal timing and any market-specific terms. The U.S. overview’s $9.99 figure is not a worldwide guarantee.
- Accept the Luna Terms. Standard access requires acceptance of the Terms, and Premium enrollment is governed by the subscription terms shown to you.
- Test the access path. Launch an included game on the exact TV, browser or device you expect to use before buying additional hardware.
Catalog changes, territory limits and other caveats
Titles can leave or move between selections
Amazon states that game selections and subscription content can change. A game listed today may be removed, become unavailable in a particular territory or appear under a different access level later. Record the date when a game matters to your decision and recheck the listing before renewing.
Availability is location-specific
Amazon’s overview and Terms caution that prices and availability may vary by territory. A title or plan described for the United States may not appear in another country, and the price shown in a U.S. article should not be converted into a promised local price. Your Amazon account’s Luna page is the relevant authority for your location.

Prime eligibility is an ongoing condition for Standard
Standard is tied to an eligible Prime membership, not merely to having created an Amazon account. If the account no longer qualifies, the included Luna access may no longer be available. Premium is a separate paid subscription, but its own billing and content terms still apply.
Cloud access is not the same as owning a game
Luna subscriptions provide access to included cloud games while the applicable plan and catalog listing remain active. They do not turn a rotating subscription title into a permanent license that continues after the title leaves the service or the subscription ends.

Before starting Premium
- Check the exact amount and currency displayed for your Amazon account.
- Confirm the next renewal date and the cancellation deadline.
- Verify that the game you want is currently included in Premium in your territory.
- Make sure your intended device is compatible before committing to a recurring charge.
If you only want one month
Cancel Premium through the subscription-management controls before the next charge, following the instructions presented in your Amazon account. Amazon describes Premium as automatically renewing unless canceled before a charge. Keep the cancellation confirmation or status shown by the account so you can verify that future billing is stopped.
When Amazon changes the price
The Terms allow Amazon to change Premium plan prices. Amazon says changes generally take effect from the next subscription period unless a notice says otherwise. Read any price-change notice and decide whether the expanded catalog still justifies the new amount before that period begins.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming Standard is available without Prime
Why it happens: Standard may be described as an included tier, which can sound like an open free plan.
What to do: Confirm eligible, active Prime status and accept the Luna Terms.
Treating the example games as a permanent lineup
Why it happens: Product overviews use recognizable games to explain the difference between tiers.
What to do: Check the live catalog and note the date. Amazon can change selections and availability.
Using the U.S. price for another country
Why it happens: $9.99 is a clear, memorable figure in Amazon’s U.S. overview.
What to do: Use the price and currency shown on your local Amazon offer; territorial prices may differ.
