What is Anger Foot?
Developed by Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital, Anger Foot is a single-player first-person shooter released on Steam for Windows PC on July 11, 2024. It casts you into Shit City, where the core loop is to move through levels, kick down doors and enemies, use guns, and push through hostile districts. The publisher describes the setting as a fever dream of gangsters and the music as bass-heavy; those are marketing characterizations, but they fit the game’s deliberately loud, exaggerated premise.
The game’s own shorthand is “booter”: the kick is not merely a novelty button alongside shooting. It is a defining part of how you approach rooms and confrontations. Devolver’s official game page lays out the premise and mechanics, while the Steam listing identifies the Windows release and single-player format.
Why the kick-first combat works
A kick-first shooter changes the rhythm of a room. Instead of treating every encounter as a distant target to line up, you can make the door or an opponent the opening move, then react with weapons and movement as the situation changes. That physical, immediate approach gives the action a strong comic punch and helps Anger Foot feel distinct without needing a complicated premise.

That identity is the game’s clearest strength. PC Gamer’s Ted Litchfield, reviewing it on July 12, 2024, called it “a funny, unique FPS only slightly let down by performance issues.” That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a consensus score, but it captures the appeal: a shooter whose sense of humor and unusual combat focus are central rather than decorative.
Levels, footwear, and replay
Progress takes you through districts of Shit City. The publisher says that secrets, unlocks, and sneakers with different effects encourage replay and experimentation with different approaches. That gives the footwear more purpose than a cosmetic collection: trying a different pair can change how a run feels. The available description establishes replay through unlocks and experimentation, but not a specific completion time or a particular amount of post-game content.

The concept started as a Seven Day FPS game-jam prototype, according to the developer’s launch announcement. That origin is a useful lens on the finished game’s focus: it begins with a simple, instantly legible action and builds its levels and unlocks around it. The announcement also calls it a single-player first-person “booter,” a concise description of what sets its combat apart.
How the tone and soundtrack land
Anger Foot aims for abrasive, absurd energy rather than realism. The publisher’s description leans into the chaos of Shit City, while its own copy characterizes the soundtrack as “concussive” and “bass-thumping.” Those words are promotional, not an independent judgment, but they point to the game’s intended effect: fast action paired with an intentionally over-the-top audio and visual presentation. If you prefer restrained, tactical shooters, the volume and silliness may be more wearing than appealing.

The developer separately announced a 24-track downloadable soundtrack in WAV and MP3 formats. That confirms a digital soundtrack release; it does not establish a physical album.
PC performance: one reviewer’s setup-specific warning
Performance deserves a qualification, not a blanket verdict. In PC Gamer’s July 12, 2024 review, Litchfield reported frame-rate slowdowns in busy rooms at 1440p on the reviewer’s RTX 3070 and 2021 i5 system, along with hitches on another display setup. Those observations apply to that review experience. They do not establish current performance on every PC or in the current game build, and the available evidence does not support a universal system-performance claim.

The game is a Windows PC FPS, so a mouse is a plausible optional input device if that is how you prefer to play shooters. No particular mouse was tested or shown to be required, and a peripheral should not be treated as a fix for the reported performance issues.

If you want a single-player FPS with a strong central gimmick, fast room-clearing action, and a deliberately ridiculous tone, Anger Foot has a clear case. Its kick-first combat gives it a more memorable identity than a standard gun-focused shooter, while footwear unlocks offer a reason to experiment with approaches and replay levels. Its biggest supported caveat is the performance trouble reported by one reviewer on specific PC setups; that is worth keeping in mind, but it should not be generalized into a claim that every player will encounter it.

Steam lists Windows PC, Action and Indie classifications, and single-player features. Devolver’s official page shows Windows PC and PlayStation 5 platform artwork, but that artwork alone does not verify current PS5 store availability. Confirm the platform listing for your region before buying if you are considering a console version.
