The paid successor to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, a one-time-purchase smart-device app that launched in late 2024. Nintendo’s US announcement gave a Dec. 2, 2024 release date; Nintendo Australia listed Dec. 3, reflecting regional timing. The original service has ended, and the announced window for transferring an old save has passed.
What is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete?
Pocket Camp Complete is Nintendo’s paid successor to the original mobile game. Instead of the original free-to-start service, it uses a flat-fee purchase model and has no additional in-game purchases, according to Nintendo’s announcement. Nintendo described the app as including previously released content and said players could decorate with more than 10,000 items; that item count is Nintendo’s product claim, not an independent count.

The original Pocket Camp service ended on Nov. 28, 2024. The Complete app followed on Dec. 2 in Nintendo’s US announcement and Dec. 3 on Nintendo Australia’s release page. The dates differ by region; they are not separate launches of different games. Nintendo Support’s service notice confirms the original service end date, while Nintendo Australia gives its regional launch date.
Can you still transfer your old Pocket Camp save?
No. Nintendo announced a limited period for moving save data from the original app to Complete, but both published deadlines have passed. Nintendo’s US announcement said transfer would be available through June 1, 2025; Nintendo Australia specified June 2, 2025 at 16:00 AEST. Those dates reflect the regional notices and their time zones, not a currently open transfer window. See Nintendo’s US announcement and Nintendo Australia’s announcement.

Does Pocket Camp Complete need an internet connection?
Nintendo says the game can be played in offline environments without constant data communication. That does not mean every feature or initial app setup is guaranteed to work without connectivity; Nintendo’s wording is specifically that constant communication is not required for play. The official Pocket Camp Complete support guide describes offline play and the game’s Camper Cards.
How Camper Cards work
Camper Cards replace the original game’s Friends feature. They use QR codes, which players can share and scan to add other players’ cards. This is a different social setup from relying on the old service’s friend system.

What content and features carry over?
Nintendo says players can import Custom Designs from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That is distinct from transferring an old Pocket Camp save: the announced save-transfer window has closed, while Custom Design import is a separate feature described in Nintendo’s release announcement.

The Complete app also brings back older events, Fortune Cookies, and limited-time items on a four-year cycle, according to Nintendo UK’s game page. Nintendo says the app also includes new events and Fortune Cookies. The cycle means returning content is not necessarily available all at once.
