To complete With a Trace in ARC Raiders, deploy to The Blue Gate, investigate the pale round component on the detached leg at Barren Clearing, then visit Adorned Wreckage and interact with the small yellow communications terminal beside the nearby smaller wreck. You do not need a quest item, a special weapon, or a successful extraction.

Step 1: Deploy to The Blue Gate
Select The Blue Gate when choosing your raid. No special map condition, key, item, or loadout is required. The entire quest can be completed during one deployment.

Step 2: Find Barren Clearing
Barren Clearing is on the western side of The Blue Gate. It is:
- Directly west of Raider’s Refuge
- Southwest of the large Village area
- Close to the western edge of the map
The objective Reach the Barren Clearing can update before you arrive at the wreckage itself. Treat that notification as an area marker, not as completion of the investigation. Continue into the clearing and look for the large destroyed ARC machine.
Step 3: Investigate the detached leg
The first required interaction is not on the main ARC body.

- Find the large downed machine in the center of Barren Clearing.
- Look southwest of its main body for a detached leg.
- Follow the leg to its broken end.
- Approach the pale, spherical gray component on the ground.
- Activate the exact Investigate prompt.
This completes Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines. Guides may call the object a glowing ball, radar dish, or metal sphere; these descriptions refer to the same component at the severed leg joint.

Step 4: Travel to Adorned Wreckage
From Barren Clearing, head south or southeast toward Trapper’s Glade. Adorned Wreckage is the colorful, antenna-covered, rocket-like wreck in that area.
Entering the correct area should advance the tracker to Inspect the Adorned Wreckage. Despite the wording, you do not need to search, climb, or interact with the large wreck itself.
Step 5: Inspect the communications device
Search at ground level beside the smaller rocket-like wreck next to the main Adorned Wreckage structure. The objective interaction is a small yellow computer or terminal on a makeshift desk, generally on the side facing Trapper’s Glade, northeast of the central wreck.
Interact with the yellow terminal to complete Inspect the communications device. You do not need to climb the antenna structure or look for a device on top of the main wreck.

What to do if the terminal has no prompt
If the yellow computer is present but inactive, the Barren Clearing investigation may not have registered correctly. Use this recovery sequence:
- Begin a fresh deployment on The Blue Gate.
- Return to Barren Clearing.
- Revisit the detached leg and its pale round component.
- Activate Investigate when the prompt appears.
- Travel directly to Adorned Wreckage.
- Check the yellow communications terminal again.
If it remains inactive, repeat the complete sequence in another fresh deployment. Avoid visiting Adorned Wreckage before reactivating the Barren Clearing evidence interaction. Player reports describe this as a quest-state registration issue, not a requirement to loot containers or defeat a particular ARC. Surviving the route
The quest does not require combat. Adorned Wreckage can have ARC threats, including a Leaper, and the area may attract other players. You can use a low-value loadout, avoid unnecessary fights, or clear only the space immediately around the terminal before interacting with it.

A successful extraction is not required for the completed objective state or reported rewards, although returning to Speranza is the normal way to speak with Shani and review the reward.
