But it was 35th in Steam’s displayed ranking, not the third most-played game overall. The result describes one Steam-only moment, not an enduring lead or a comparison across every platform.
What Steam’s October 7 snapshot shows
Steam’s official stats page, updated October 7, 2026 at 11:55 a.m., listed 43,156 current players for ARC Raiders and 34,304 for Battlefield 6. In the table’s displayed ranking, ARC Raiders was 35th and Battlefield 6 was 48th. So ARC Raiders was ahead of Battlefield 6, but the “third most played” part of the headline is incorrect for that snapshot. Steam’s player statistics are a changing snapshot; ranks and counts can move as players come and go.

Why other live counts may differ
Steam Charts recorded ARC Raiders at 36,509 players at 22:02:09 UTC on October 7, with a 24-hour peak of 43,993 and an all-time peak of 465,097. Its Battlefield 6 page showed 30,290 players at 20:01:14 UTC, a 24-hour peak of 34,493 and an all-time peak of 656,067. Those current counts were sampled at different times, so they are not a simultaneous head-to-head comparison. Steam Charts’ ARC Raiders page and its Battlefield 6 page identify the tracker’s readings and history.

The lead depends on the time window
Monthly averages show that neither game has held a consistent lead. Steam Charts reported these average concurrent Steam players:

| Month | ARC Raiders | Battlefield 6 | Higher average |
|---|---|---|---|
| March 2026 | 112,312.20 | 37,785.28 | ARC Raiders |
| September 2026 | 21,256.13 | 30,882.74 | Battlefield 6 |
The figures are monthly average concurrent players, not peak counts or total owners. They show ARC Raiders far ahead in March, then Battlefield 6 ahead in September. Steam Charts’ monthly data is useful for that longer view, while the official Steam stats page is the primary source for its dated ranking snapshot.
What “more popular” means here
In this comparison, “more popular” means more people playing concurrently on Steam at the time of the snapshot. It does not establish which game has more owners, more players across all platforms, or greater popularity by every measure. Steam’s figures cover Steam activity, not all storefronts and consoles.
Nexon’s Q3 2025 investor presentation reported more than 700,000 concurrent ARC Raiders players across all platforms during the game’s launch period. That is a historical, publisher-reported cross-platform figure—not an October 2026 count and not directly comparable to Steam’s later Steam-only numbers. Nexon described ARC Raiders in that presentation as “a brand new PvPvE extraction shooter from Nexon’s Embark Studios.” Nexon’s investor materials provide the company context for the launch-era figure.
