ARC Raiders’ confirmed chance to try the full game is a limited free-play event, not an announced sign-up test. Embark says it runs October 8, 2026, at 09:00 UTC through October 12 at 08:00 UTC on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. The announcement does not describe an application or registration process.
When can you play ARC Raiders for free?
Embark’s October 2, 2026 announcement sets the event for October 8 at 09:00 UTC through October 12 at 08:00 UTC. The window is time-limited and overlaps the Frozen Trail update.
Embark describes access as the full game, calling it a chance to try the extraction adventure before buying. The dates and times are UTC; convert them to your local time before planning a session.
How can you participate, and where is the event available?
The announcement names Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. It does not confirm this event for every platform where ARC Raiders is generally listed, so do not assume that the event includes Epic Games Store or GeForce NOW.

The headline’s sign-up claim is not supported by the event announcement: Embark describes a free-play period, not an application-based early test. Its page lists “How can I participate?” as a FAQ question, but the accessible page text does not provide an answer with a separate sign-up link or instructions. Check the event listing on your chosen platform for availability and any platform-specific steps.
Germany PS5 listing
Embark notes a €0.25 fee for the PS5 event listing in Germany. This is a stated local exception, not a general price for the event or other regions.

What does the event include?
The announced access is to the full game, and the free-play period coincides with the Frozen Trail update. New players can access Pendola Pass immediately if they join a group with someone who has already unlocked that map.
ARC Raiders is a multiplayer extraction adventure: players scavenge a dangerous surface threatened by machines and rival Raiders. The official site describes cross-platform social play across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, but that general description does not expand the platforms named for this particular event.

What happens to progress, and is a subscription required?
Embark’s announcement lists questions about progress carryover and subscription requirements, but the page text available here does not give answers. Do not assume that event progress transfers to a later purchase or that a particular console subscription is—or is not—needed; check the platform’s current listing and Embark’s event page for terms.
The official game site says online play requires internet access, an Embark ID, and a third-party platform account, and that age restrictions apply (13+).

PC requirements for the Steam version
The Steam listing gives PC requirements for the Steam version; they do not apply to console players. Review the Steam store listing for the minimum and recommended PC specifications before installing. Steam lists Embark Studios as developer and publisher and gives the game’s release date as October 30, 2025.
