What the February 11 hotfix reportedly fixed
Insider Gaming reported that Embark’s February 11 hotfix included the line, “Fixed an infinite ammo weapon glitch.” The same reproduced fix list also covered an inventory-slot duplication glitch and two Headwinds quest issues. The report said the hotfix required no download and that players should restart the game. What players were reportedly able to do
Contemporary coverage described a weapon-swapping and drop-and-pickup process that could generate ammunition, allow free weapon repairs, and alter magazine sizes. PC Gamer gave an example of a weapon with a small normal capacity receiving an enlarged magazine. These are reported effects and mechanics, not a technical explanation confirmed by Embark in the sources available.
PC Gamer’s February 11 coverage describes the reported exploit. The accounts establish why players called it an infinite-ammo glitch, but do not identify the underlying code flaw.

How Embark addressed exploit use
On February 17, Embark said its investigation had concluded and that exploits had affected the in-game economy and players’ community experience. The studio wrote: “Though these exploits stemmed from a design flaw on our part, the way they were used had a real impact on the game’s economy and the way the community experienced ARC Raiders.”
Embark said enforcement would depend on “severity, intent, frequency, and impact.” The February 17 statement described possible actions including warnings, removal of Coins linked to exploit use, and suspensions in severe cases.
