Where to use the Patrol Car Key

The exact usable vehicle can vary within the relevant area between raids. Treat these locations as search zones rather than assuming that one specific patrol car will always be present.
The Blue Gate Patrol Car location
On The Blue Gate, look for the patrol car in or around the Traffic Tunnel. The two listed positions are:
- At the north tip of the Traffic Tunnel, outside the Maintenance Wing.
- Inside the Traffic Tunnel, south of the roof opening.
Older walkthroughs describe reaching this area through Headhouse near the Warehouse complex. From there, descend below ground, use the zipline, and search the underground highway and vehicle area.

Do not spend the raid searching ordinary police vehicles on the surface. The documented Blue Gate route leads to the underground Traffic Tunnel/highway area.
The Riven Tides Patrol Car locations
On Riven Tides, search the dirt road around Customs House. Patrol cars are listed in two possible areas:
- Northwest of Customs House, along the dirt road.
- Southeast of Customs House, along the dirt road.
This is the key’s additional current map location, so carrying it into Riven Tides is now a valid plan. You do not need to force a Blue Gate raid if Riven Tides offers the safer or more convenient route.
How to open the patrol car
- Keep the Patrol Car Key in your inventory when entering The Blue Gate or Riven Tides.
- Travel to one of the relevant patrol-car search areas.
- Find the patrol car’s locked rear door.
- Move close to the correct door until the interaction prompt appears.
- Interact to consume the key and open the vehicle.
- Take the contents and extract successfully.
The available evidence confirms that the key must be on you, but it does not verify a universal keyboard or controller button label, nor does it establish that the item must occupy a particular inventory slot.
What loot is inside?
The patrol car contains a gun case and can contain another type of container. The available information does not establish a guaranteed weapon, rarity, or fixed item list, so the reward can vary.
Opening the car is not enough to preserve the reward. Items taken from it are kept only if you successfully extract from the raid.

Why the Patrol Car Key may not work
You are on the wrong map
The current listing associates the key with The Blue Gate and Riven Tides. Taking it to Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Stella Montis, or another map will not make it usable there.
You are searching the wrong vehicles
On Blue Gate, focus on the underground Traffic Tunnel/highway area rather than surface-road police cars. On Riven Tides, check the dirt roads northwest and southeast of Customs House.

The key is for the rear door. Walk around the patrol car and approach the locked rear door directly. The prompt should appear only at the correct interaction point.

The interaction prompt does not appear
Confirm that the key is still in your inventory and that you are standing at the locked rear door of a valid patrol car. There is no source-confirmed requirement for a particular inventory slot.
The vehicle is not where you expected
Patrol-car placement can vary within the relevant search area between raids. Check the other documented position and search the broader tunnel or road section instead of assuming that one vehicle is guaranteed.

The Blue Gate Traffic Tunnel and Checkpoint area can contain heavy ARC forces, including Bastions. The nearby Security and Maintenance Wings are also high-value areas that can attract other players.

Can you get another Patrol Car Key?
If you die before using the key or completing the objective, replacement keys must be found through random scavenging. The available sources do not verify a fixed vendor or guaranteed repeat source.
The Patrol Car Key page lists A Prime Specimen as a quest source for one key. This should not be confused with the Armored Patrol Key Card mentioned in walkthroughs for the Armored Transport(s) quest.
