Where to find Tick Pods in Arc Raiders
Tick Pods are enemy drops. To get one, destroy a Tick and loot its remains; each looted Tick drops 1 Tick Pod. Searching containers or lockers will not produce this item according to the currently documented drop behavior.

Ticks are predominantly indoor enemies. Check walls, ceilings, floors, rafters, and the interiors of buildings and facilities. They can appear in groups, and their robotic or shuffling sound can warn you that one is nearby before it attacks.

- Stella Montis
The database displays Stella Montis twice, so this represents five distinct listed maps, not six. Another guide claims Ticks can spawn on every map, but it does not provide a complete, validated map-by-map table. The locations above are therefore the narrower explicitly documented list.
Best documented Tick Pod farm: Seed Vault
The most consistent documented route is the Seed Vault on Stella Montis. It is on the Lower Floor in the southeast corner of the map and contains multiple Ticks, making it more reliable than searching random indoor locations.
What you need
- A way to carry loot safely, preferably a Safe Pocket.
- A Fuel Cell to open the Seed Vault.
- A Raider Tool or firearm for killing Ticks.
- A workable extraction route.
Fuel Cells commonly appear near the Seed Vault entrance or close to the extraction point, but their availability can vary between raids. If your loadout system offers it, a Free Loadout can also provide a practical low-cost way to attempt the run.

Seed Vault farming route
- Load into Stella Montis with a Safe Pocket, either through a custom loadout or an available Free Loadout.
- Travel to the Seed Vault on the Lower Floor in the southeast.
- Search near the entrance or extraction area for a Fuel Cell if you did not bring one.
- Insert the Fuel Cell at the Seed Vault entrance to open it.
- Listen for Ticks inside the vault and check the walls, ceiling, floor, and surrounding structures.
- Destroy every Tick, loot each one, and secure the Tick Pods in your Safe Pocket when possible.
- Extract, then repeat the route on another raid.
This route is efficient because you are targeting a documented group spawn rather than hoping to encounter an isolated Tick while looting unrelated buildings. It is still a raid-based farm: the Fuel Cell, enemies, other players, and extraction conditions can affect the outcome.
How to kill Ticks safely
A Tick can be destroyed with one hit from the Raider Tool. Shooting it is also valid, especially if you spot it before it closes the distance. Because Ticks may be attached to walls or ceilings, look above doorways and along indoor surfaces instead of scanning only at eye level.

If a Tick attaches to your head, hold the game’s Interact input to dislodge it. The keyboard key depends on your control settings, so use the interact binding shown in your configuration rather than assuming a universal key.
When farming, avoid wasting ammunition on a Tick that can be handled with the Raider Tool, but do not stand exposed while trying to line up a melee hit. Clear the room, watch for grouped spawns, and loot only after the immediate area is safe.
How many Tick Pods do you need?
The commonly repeated advice that you only need eight Tick Pods is incomplete. Eight is the requirement for one specific upgrade, while other projects require more.
| Use | Requirement | Other listed materials |
|---|---|---|
| Medical Lab Level 2 | 8 Tick Pods | 2 Cracked Bioscanners; 5 Durable Cloth |
| Trophy Display, Stage 1 | 15 Tick Pods | 15 Pop Triggers; 3 Rusted Bolts; 5 Surveyor Vaults |
| Avian Alarm, Phase 2 | Tick Pod requirement listed by MetaForge | See the current project entry for the complete recipe |
| Phantom Targets, Phases 4 and 5 | Tick Pod requirements listed by MetaForge | See the current project entries for complete recipes |
Because Tick Pods are also used in separate Expedition Projects, keep them for planned upgrades and projects instead of selling or recycling your entire supply. Check the current recipe before spending them, since requirements can change.
Tick Pod item details
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Weight: 0.5 KG
- Stack size: 3
- Listed value: 640 Raider Coins
- Status: Recyclable
These properties make Tick Pods relatively easy to carry in small quantities, but their stack size means larger farming runs can consume several inventory slots. Prioritize securing them in a Safe Pocket when the purpose of the raid is progression rather than general loot.

Should you sell, recycle, or salvage Tick Pods?
Keep them if you still need them for progression. Once your current Medical Lab, Trophy Display, and Expedition Project requirements are covered, the choice depends on whether you need Raider Coins or crafting materials.
- Sell: One Tick Pod has a listed value of 640 Raider Coins.
- Recycle at the Workshop: One Tick Pod produces 2 ARC Alloy and 2 Chemicals. The displayed material value is 500 Raider Coins, lower than the listed sale value.
- Salvage in a raid: One Tick Pod produces 1 ARC Alloy, which is less than Workshop recycling.
Workshop recycling is therefore more productive than in-raid salvaging for materials, while selling gives the higher listed coin value. Neither option is preferable to saving a needed Pod for a recipe.
Additional crafting change
Patch 1.17.0 added Tick Pod to the Vita Spray crafting recipe. The ARC Raiders Wiki item page records this change and was last edited May 14, 2026. This is another reason to check the current crafting and project requirements before converting spare Pods into coins or materials.
Common Tick Pod mistakes
- Searching lockers for Pods: Pods come from looted Ticks, not standard containers.
- Stopping at eight: Medical Lab Level 2 needs eight, but Trophy Display and Expedition Projects add further requirements.
- Searching only outdoors: Ticks are primarily found indoors, including on ceilings and rafters.
- Entering Seed Vault without a Fuel Cell: Bring one or search the documented areas near the entrance and extraction point.
- Leaving Pods unsecured: A Safe Pocket reduces the risk of losing the main objective if the raid goes badly.
Quick answer
For the best documented farm, load into Stella Montis, reach the Seed Vault on the Lower Floor in the southeast, use a Fuel Cell to open it, kill and loot the group of Ticks inside, and extract. Use the Raider Tool for one-hit kills when safe, hold Interact to remove an attached Tick, and save enough Pods for all current progression requirements before selling, recycling, or salvaging them.
