ArcheAge Chronicles enters Steam Early Access on November 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC). It is a buy-to-play PC release priced at $29.99 in North America, with no recurring subscription. The launch build includes most of Diamond Shores plus Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains, four classes, eight weapons, dungeons, raids, housing, crafting, trading, PvP, and guild activities.
Your Steam Next Fest demo character and progress will not transfer. Progression separates level-based stat points from weapon-trait points earned at Raeven’s Coilstones near bosses. XLGAMES expects Early Access to run approximately nine to 12 months, while server names, a console date, a level cap, and a detailed post-launch roadmap remain unpublished or unconfirmed.

When does ArcheAge Chronicles Early Access start?
Early Access unlocks on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). XLGAMES used both “PST” and “PT” in its October announcements; daylight saving time in the United States ends on November 1, so 3:00 p.m. Pacific is UTC−8 on launch day.

The November 4 date used in Korean coverage is the same moment, not a separate regional launch. Pre-orders opened on Steam on October 27 at 8:00 a.m. PDT. The Steam Next Fest demo ran from October 19 at 10:00 a.m. PDT through October 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and is closed.

Is ArcheAge Chronicles free to play?
No. ArcheAge Chronicles is a one-time, buy-to-play purchase on Steam, not a free-to-play game and not a subscription service. XLGAMES set the Early Access price at $29.99 in North America and ₩36,000 in Korea; Steam applies regional pricing in other markets.

The Steam Early Access notice says the price may change at full release to reflect added content and improvements, with advance notice of any change. XLGAMES has stated that there is no in-game store at the Early Access launch. A later store is described only in broad terms—possible customization, extra content, or convenience—and itemized offerings and timing have not been announced. The studio has said it does not intend to sell pay-to-win items, but that future-shop plan is not a published catalog.
What does the pre-order bonus include?
Pre-orders include the Dawn Pioneer Set, shown in Steam’s item flow as the Dawn Pioneer Outfit Chest and also described as the Dawnbreaker Vanguard Outfit. It provides one class costume for the class you choose. After launch, open the main menu, hold Claim Reward (or press N), then use the chest from Inventory. The reward is bound to the character that claims it, so do not claim it on a temporary character.
What servers will Early Access have?
XLGAMES has not published a named Early Access server list. The confirmed change is automatic region selection based on your location, with clearer region labels on the server-select screen. Brazil and Singapore servers were added for the Early Access rollout.
Which regions were used in the demo?
The last publicly documented demo footprint contained North America East, North America West, Europe Central, Asia East, and Asia South. Brazil was added during the demo on October 23 and appeared under the North America category in the menu, even for players physically in Brazil. The October 29 producer letter lists Brazil and Singapore as additions heading into Early Access, but it does not publish the final server names.
Is there an Oceania server?
No Oceania region has been announced. Players in Australia and New Zealand are expected to choose between Asia and North America according to the latency shown by the client. Until XLGAMES publishes a final list, the practical choice is to let automatic selection choose a region and then compare the available latency before creating a character.

Channels use the same world, quests, and progression, but Conflict channels enable opt-in open PvP. Peace channels do not permit player attacks; Conflict channels allow attacks against players outside your party or guild. You can change channel at a Nui Statue after a delay or cooldown.

Parties remain together across Peace and Conflict channels. An invitation can be sent across channels, and a player can move directly to the party leader’s channel. Secondary summaries of the demo reported about 100 players per channel; XLGAMES’ Early Access letter confirms the channel system without promising that population figure for launch. Monster kills in Conflict channels were reported to grant roughly 10–15% more experience, but that percentage should be treated as a reported value until Don’s October 4 PvP post is available for direct confirmation. Player kills do not drop items or currency.
Does Steam Next Fest demo progress carry over?
No. Demo characters, quests, save data, and progression are wiped. You must create a new character when Early Access opens.
The demo offered roughly two to three hours of early Diamond Shores quests, all four classes, first-public PvP, and the Throne of Hinnon dungeon. Housing and trade were deliberately excluded. There is no public build between the demo’s October 26 closure and the paid Early Access launch.

ArcheAge Chronicles has two separate advancement tracks: character levels grant spendable stat points, while weapon traits come from exploration and boss challenges. Leveling alone does not award trait points.
Levels provide stat points
You begin at level 1. Quests, discoveries, and points of interest provide most experience; monster kills are a secondary source. Each level grants stat points that you place manually. The six primary stats are:
- Strength: physical attack.
- Agility: critical-hit chance and some physical attack.
- Constitution: health and critical resistance.
- Intelligence: magic attack.
- Talent: support for magic attack and the ability to wear better gear without penalties.
- Endurance: stamina and defense.
One point buys one stat point. The character screen previews attack power and critical values before you confirm an allocation, allowing you to check the effect rather than spending blindly.
Trait points come from Raeven’s Coilstones
Trait points are earned from Raeven’s Coilstones, each positioned near a powerful boss. This deliberately sends players toward new challenges instead of making every trait unlock a simple level milestone.

Every weapon type has its own trait tree. A Warrior’s longsword and greatsword trees are separate, so two characters using the same class can develop very differently. Nodes may provide small stat boosts, unlock skills, or modify how an existing skill behaves. For example, a greatsword build can emphasize Armor Break and Sweeping Slash damage, while another build can focus on a guarding Pummel Strike and shield interaction.
Trait costs, layouts, and alternate skills are Early Access systems and may change in response to player feedback. The launch combat notes also add new stat nodes and four new Lunastones.
Other ways to grow
- Nui Tears: take them to a Nui Statue to raise maximum HP; later increases cost more tears.
- Field bosses: drop gear, accessories, and unique crafting materials.
- Hersander’s Tower: solve each zone’s riddles and offerings to earn a unique accessory and unlock a timed, powered-up Hereafter Challenge boss with a leaderboard.
- Discoveries and treasure: many chests and objects open once per character, preventing a first-come race between players.
- Dungeons: run them solo or in parties of up to four, with quest progress shared inside the instance.
Throne of Hinnon was the deliberately difficult high-level demo dungeon. XLGAMES has not stated an official Early Access level cap.
What is in Early Access compared with the demo?
The demo showed only a small part of Diamond Shores. Early Access opens most of that region plus two new regions, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains.

Ham describes the Early Access map as roughly 20 times the demo’s size. Each region has its own stories, bosses, and dungeons. XLGAMES estimates more than 10 hours of main-quest play in each region, or more than 30 hours across the three before side activities, collection, crafting, and group content. Actual time depends on how much optional content you pursue.
Which classes and weapons are available?
The launch classes are Warrior, Ranger, Mage, and Berserker. Each class has two weapons, for eight weapons at launch. Developer material specifically names the Warrior longsword and greatsword, Ranger hatchet, Wavesword, Longbow, Warhammer, Hatchet, and Elemental Staff in combat discussions and examples; XLGAMES has not published a single official eight-weapon chart, so weapon assignments beyond those named examples should be checked in the in-game character screen.
Classes remain gender-locked at the November 3 launch. XLGAMES plans to add gender selection one class at a time, beginning with a female Warrior in the first update planned for December. The first additional weapon is also planned for Warrior: the Gladius. More gender options and third weapons are intended to follow class by class, with the stated goal of removing every gender lock by full release.

How long will Early Access last?
The Steam Early Access FAQ estimates approximately nine to 12 months, with major and minor updates during that period. XLGAMES says the timeline can change with player feedback and development progress.

No confirmed console Early Access date exists. November 3 is a Steam PC launch. ArcheAge Chronicles has been shown for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and appears on those platforms as wishlist or concept listings, but XLGAMES has not announced a console release schedule. Epic Games Store references do not include a matching Early Access date or price. Steam Deck compatibility is listed as unknown.

The Early Access build replaces the demo-era black-screen wait with a shader-compilation screen. XLGAMES also lists connection and login fixes, an antivirus-related launch fix, multi-monitor and fullscreen improvements, and automatic fallback when upscaling or frame generation fails. These changes supersede the demo advice to simply wait five to 10 minutes at a black screen.
Should you buy on November 3 or wait?
Buying at launch gives immediate access to all three launch regions, the full progression systems, and the Dawn Pioneer costume if you pre-ordered. It also means accepting an Early Access schedule that may change, no published level cap, no named final server list, and combat and trait systems that XLGAMES expects to iterate.

Waiting gives you time to see launch stability, server latency, the post-launch roadmap, and the December Warrior gender and Gladius update. The Early Access price may rise at version 1.0, so delaying is not guaranteed to be cheaper.
Who publishes ArcheAge Chronicles?
XLGAMES now self-publishes the game directly. The official project site is archeagechronicles.xlgames.com. On Steam, the application is listed as app 3218230.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be an open beta before Early Access?
No open-beta sign-up is currently advertised. The September 12 network test was invite-only and limited to North America; the next announced public version is the paid Steam Early Access build.
Is there an official level cap for the November build?
XLGAMES has not published an Early Access level cap. That means players should not assume a specific maximum level or a fixed endgame threshold until the developer documents one.
Is ArcheAge Chronicles compatible with Steam Deck?
Steam currently marks Steam Deck compatibility as unknown. There is no published Valve rating or performance target, so handheld play should be treated as unsupported until an official status appears.
Can the female Warrior be selected at launch?
No. Character creation remains gender-locked on November 3. A female Warrior is planned for the first update in December, but XLGAMES has not given a specific day for that update.
