These game-specific paths come from PCGamingWiki, not a publisher guarantee. Backup options differ by platform: PS4 saves can be copied to USB, PS5 saves are managed through console settings and PlayStation Plus cloud storage, and the available sources do not establish an Xbox-specific export path.
Windows: where to find the AC6 save file
PCGamingWiki lists the Windows save folder as %APPDATA%ArmoredCore6{64BitSteamID}, with the save file named AC60000.sl2. The braces indicate your account-specific Steam ID folder; they are not literal characters to type. This is a third-party reference path, not a publisher-confirmed location. PCGamingWiki’s Armored Core VI entry is the source for the game-specific path.
- Close Armored Core VI.
- In File Explorer’s address bar, enter
%APPDATA%ArmoredCore6and press Enter. - Open the long numeric Steam ID subfolder and look for
AC60000.sl2. - Copy the entire
ArmoredCore6folder to a separate location, preferably another drive or removable storage. Keep a dated copy and leave the original untouched.
If the folder or file is not there, do not create a replacement based on the pattern alone. Confirm that you are using the Windows PC installation and the Windows account that played the game; the cited path is not an Xbox console path.
PC config file location and backup
The same PCGamingWiki reference lists the graphics configuration at %APPDATA%ArmoredCore6GraphicsConfig.xml. Close the game and copy this file before making changes. To undo a change, restore your copy while the game remains closed.

Steam Cloud: separate from the AppData save
Steam Support gives C:Program Files (x86)Steamuserdata as the default Windows location for local Steam Cloud files. Under it, Steam uses account and app-ID folders. SteamDB identifies Armored Core VI’s app ID as 1888160, so the corresponding cloud area is commonly expressed as Steamuserdata[SteamID]1888160. Steamworks explains that configured cloud files synchronize after a game exits and download before launch on another computer. Cloud sync is synchronization, not a guaranteed independent backup: it can propagate an unwanted save as well as the one you want. Steam Cloud can be disabled globally in Steam Settings, and the game’s cloud setting should also be checked when troubleshooting. Steamworks: Steam Cloud.

Before restoring a PC save
- Exit the game and wait for any pending Steam Cloud synchronization to finish.
- Make a second copy of the current
ArmoredCore6folder before replacing anything. - Check the game’s Steam Cloud setting and resolve any sync conflict before launching.
- Replace the local file only when you have identified which copy is the intended save. Avoid launching the game until that choice is clear, because Steam may sync around game exit and launch.
PS5 version: manage saves in console settings
On PS5, use Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS5) to manage the PS5 version’s save. Sony supports cloud storage and automatic sync for PlayStation Plus members. Its storage guidance does not describe copying an individual PS5 game save to USB; USB extended storage is for game and app data, not an individually exported PS5 save. Sony documents a separate full-console backup process for PS5. That is distinct from exporting one game’s save file to USB.

PS4 version: copy the save to USB
PS4 saved data can be copied to a USB drive formatted as FAT or exFAT. On a PS4, the route is Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device. Sony also provides a PS5 menu route for PS4 game saves managed on a PS5: Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS4) > Upload or Delete from Console Storage > Copy to USB Drive. PlayStation Plus cloud storage is another supported route for PS4 and PS5 saved data. It requires an active PlayStation Plus membership. Sony’s saved-data settings guidance is at PlayStation Plus cloud storage support.

Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: no verified individual-save path here
Armored Core VI is listed for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but the available official publisher information does not establish a game-specific Xbox save location, a local file path, or an individual-save export procedure. Do not use the Windows AppData path on an Xbox console. Check current Xbox console support instructions for save management rather than assuming there is a file you can copy manually. Platform availability is listed on the publisher’s Armored Core VI page.
Do saves transfer between platforms?
The publisher lists PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam versions. Its sharing notice discusses sharing AC data and images, not transferring campaign saves across platforms.
