HotHardware’s February 19, 2025 review found that the standard ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti came close to the RTX 4080 in two synthetic tests—3DMark Speed Way and Unigine Superposition VR Future—but fell farther behind in Steel Nomad. Against the RTX 4070 Ti, HotHardware reported leads of nearly 30% in Speed Way, about 17% in Steel Nomad and about 20% in VR Future. These are results from specific synthetic workloads, not a current overall GPU ranking.
This page covers synthetic graphics and VR benchmarks; HotHardware’s separate gaming-at-multiple-resolutions results are on the full review.

What the synthetic benchmarks show
The findings below are HotHardware reviewer Marco Chiappetta’s prose comparisons from the review published February 19, 2025. The accessible review text does not provide the chart’s exact scores, so the percentages are the publisher’s approximate comparisons, not values independently calculated here.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →| Test | Workload | HotHardware’s reported result |
|---|---|---|
| UL 3DMark Speed Way | DirectX 12 Ultimate with ray tracing | The Prime RTX 5070 Ti came close to the RTX 4080 and led the RTX 4070 Ti by nearly 30%. |
| UL 3DMark Steel Nomad | DirectX 12, without ray tracing | It trailed the RTX 4080 by a larger margin than in Speed Way, led the RTX 4070 Ti by about 17%, and finished well behind the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. |
| Unigine Superposition VR Future | VR-oriented synthetic graphics test | The RTX 4080 was slightly ahead, with the two cards described as neck-and-neck. The RTX 5070 Ti was about 2× the RTX 3070 Ti and about 20% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti. |
| UL VRMark Blue Room | VR benchmark | The RTX 5070 Ti clearly beat earlier-generation “70” cards but did not catch the RTX 4080 or higher-end cards; the review describes the other cards’ relative positions as familiar. |
Speed Way’s ray-traced result and Steel Nomad’s non-ray-traced result measure different workloads, so their relative margins should not be treated as contradictory or combined into a single performance figure. VR Future and Blue Room add VR-oriented synthetic comparisons, but they do not establish performance in every VR game or headset configuration.

How to interpret the results
The pattern in HotHardware’s tests is workload-dependent: the Prime RTX 5070 Ti approaches the RTX 4080 in Speed Way and VR Future, but Steel Nomad shows a more noticeable gap. Its leads over the RTX 4070 Ti also vary by benchmark. That makes the page useful for understanding these particular synthetic tests, not for predicting a fixed percentage advantage in every game.
These findings are historical results from one review published in 2025. They do not establish present-day prices, stock, value for money, or how the card ranks against GPUs released or tested later. For game-specific performance, use the review’s separate gaming results rather than treating synthetic scores as frame-rate measurements.
Which ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti did HotHardware test?
The review identifies the standard ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti, model PRIME-RTX5070TI-16G. ASUS lists that model with 16GB of GDDR7, 8,960 CUDA cores, a 256-bit memory interface and 28 Gbps memory speed. Its published default boost clock is 2,452 MHz; the listed OC-mode clock is 2,482 MHz. See ASUS’s standard-model specifications.

- Military grade components deliver rock solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability
- Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust or debris
Do not confuse it with the separate PRIME-RTX5070TI-O16G OC Edition. ASUS lists that variant at a 2,497 MHz default boost and 2,527 MHz in OC mode; those are not the standard card’s clock specifications. The separate model’s details are on ASUS’s OC Edition specifications page.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Will the card fit and power on in your PC?
ASUS specifies the standard card at 304 × 126 × 50 mm and 2.5 slots thick, with one 16-pin power connection. Measure available GPU length and thickness in your case, and account for nearby components and airflow rather than relying on a general “SFF-ready” description. ASUS recommends a 750 W power supply based on a fully overclocked GPU and CPU system configuration; that is manufacturer guidance, not a universal minimum for every build. Check your PSU’s connector or supported cable and assess power needs for the complete system before installation. The card’s output specifications include one HDMI 2.1b port and three DisplayPort 2.1b ports. Full details are in ASUS’s specifications.
What the review says about cooling
In its Speed Way run, HotHardware described the card’s clocks as stable and temperatures as relatively modest, but the page text gives no numeric readings. ASUS describes the design as having three Axial-tech fans, Dual BIOS, a phase-change thermal pad, and fan-stop behavior below 50°C with fans restarting above 55°C. Those are manufacturer feature descriptions, not independent measurements of noise or temperatures in other systems. ASUS’s product overview is available at its UK product page.
