Who could play early?
Early access was for buyers of Avowed Premium Edition or the Avowed Premium Upgrade Add-On. Obsidian confirmed on February 13, 2025, that those purchasers could begin playing, and said Standard Edition owners could upgrade to Premium to start then. Obsidian’s launch-day announcement confirms the eligibility.

A Game Pass subscription alone did not include the five-day early-access offer. Microsoft said Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members could play at the February 18, 2025 main launch; early access was a separate Premium Edition benefit. Microsoft’s November 14, 2024 announcement also listed Xbox Series X|S, Xbox app on Windows, Battle.net and Steam for preorder.
Early access, standard launch and later PS5 release
The Premium Edition early start was up to five days before Avowed’s February 18, 2025 main launch. Obsidian later announced that the game would arrive on PlayStation 5 on February 17, 2026. That later platform date is separate from the original February 2025 unlock schedule. Obsidian’s PS5 announcement gives the later date.
