The AYANEO FLIP 1S DS is a Windows handheld gaming PC with two built-in displays: a 7-inch 144Hz OLED and a 4.5-inch IPS screen. AYANEO lists it with either an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 or Ryzen 7 8840U, so the HX 370 is an option—not a specification shared by every configuration. Its dual-screen layout is the defining feature; launch prices from 2025 are historical, not current quotes.
What the AYANEO FLIP 1S DS is
The FLIP 1S DS is the dual-screen clamshell version of AYANEO’s Windows handheld PC. It is distinct from the FLIP 1S KB, the related model with a full keyboard; the KB should not be mistaken for the DS’s two-screen layout. The DS runs Windows and has a main screen plus a separate secondary display, rather than being a native Nintendo DS device.

AYANEO describes using the smaller screen for a guide or webpage while playing on the main display, alongside productivity and retro-game scenarios. Those are manufacturer-described uses, not independent findings about how well each setup works. Emulators and games may need compatible software or configuration to use both screens; the hardware alone does not guarantee automatic dual-screen support. AYANEO’s product page describes the device and its intended screen functions.
Displays and secondary-screen functions
| Display | Published specification | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Main | 7-inch OLED, 144Hz (AYANEO product page, accessed 2026) | Primary game or app display |
| Secondary | 4.5-inch IPS, 1620 × 1080, 3:2 aspect ratio, stated 550-nit brightness (AYANEO product page, accessed 2026) | Separate display for supported companion tasks and apps |
AYANEO says the secondary screen can serve as a virtual keyboard or touchpad, show performance monitoring and settings, provide quick settings, launch apps, and display windows moved from the main screen. Windows identifies the two panels as separate displays. These are listed capabilities; the product specifications do not establish independent validation of every workflow.

Processor options and what the specs do—and don’t—tell you
AYANEO lists two processor choices for the FLIP 1S DS:
- AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: AYANEO’s July 2025 launch announcement specifies Zen 5 architecture, 12 cores and 24 threads, Radeon 890M integrated graphics, pairing with 7500MHz memory, and an NPU rated at 50 TOPS. These are manufacturer specifications, not game-performance test results. Read AYANEO’s launch announcement.
- AMD Ryzen 7 8840U: also listed as a processor option on AYANEO’s product page. The cited launch information does not provide a comparable tested-performance result for this configuration.
Neither processor name establishes real-world frame rates, sustained performance, battery runtime, fan noise, thermals, or compatibility with a particular game. No independent benchmark or hands-on measurement is established in the cited material, so treat the “rocks” framing in the original headline as promotional language rather than a benchmark claim.

Ports and wireless specifications
AYANEO’s product page lists dual USB4 ports and a microSD 4.0 slot, as well as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. It describes USB4 support for charging, data, and display output. The published specifications do not identify a suitable charger wattage or a specific microSD card model, so check compatibility for the exact configuration and accessories you intend to use.

Prices reported around launch are useful historical context, not evidence of current availability. On July 10, 2025, AYANEO announced FLIP 1S DS pre-sale pricing from $799 and directed buyers to Indiegogo. AYANEO’s announcement does not establish October 2026 stock or a live offer.
