Last Light Inn is in the northern Ruined Battlefield of the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act Two. Before you speak to Isobel, finish any urgent business with the inn’s residents: that conversation triggers Marcus’s attack, and losing Isobel can bring down the ward protecting the refuge. To preserve the inn, side with Isobel and defeat the attackers without letting them take her.
Where to find Last Light Inn
In Act Two, travel through the Shadow-Cursed Lands to the northern part of the Ruined Battlefield. Cross the bridge into the Harper-patrolled grounds to reach the inn. On your first approach, Harper Elifer calls Jaheira, who questions the party’s allegiance and asks about its tadpole. Depending on earlier choices, Mol or Marcus may vouch for you. What to do before speaking to Isobel
Speaking with Isobel triggers Marcus’s attempt to abduct her. Because the attack can put residents and quest access at risk, take care of priority conversations and tasks first.
Continue Karlach’s engine quest
Dammon is at the smithy in the northern stables and trades with the party. If Karlach is present and her quest conditions are met, bring Infernal Iron to continue her engine work. Completing this before the attack avoids risking access to Dammon. Inn location and Dammon · Attack and consequences

Check on other residents and questlines
The inn can support Act Two threads involving the tiefling rescue, Wulbren, Jaheira, and the Harpers. Which characters and opportunities are available depends on earlier decisions, so check in with anyone relevant to your current quests before triggering the attack. Inn characters and quests
Meet Isobel and receive her blessing
- After Jaheira admits you, talk to her inside the inn.
- Follow her direction to Isobel on the upper floor.
- Speak with Isobel to receive the Blessing of Selûne.
The blessing helps protect you from lesser aspects of the Shadow Curse, but it does not provide enough protection for the deepest cursed areas. Depending on your earlier encounter with Kar’niss and the Harpers, Isobel may also return the Moonlantern. Isobel, the blessing, and the Moonlantern

How to protect Isobel and keep the ward up
Marcus reveals his plan to abduct Isobel and attempts to carry it out. To preserve the refuge, oppose him and defeat him and the winged horrors while keeping Isobel alive. The attackers may target her directly, and she can be abducted if they defeat her before you clear the enemies. Make a manual save before starting the conversation if you want a recovery point. - Focus on stopping the attackers before they can defeat or abduct Isobel.
- Keep Isobel alive until the fight ends; defeating the enemies alone is not enough if she has already fallen.
- If she is taken or otherwise defeated, the moonshield protecting the inn falls. The Shadow Curse then reaches the refuge, many residents die or become shadow-cursed, and access to traders and questlines can be lost. Ward and story consequences · Resident and quest consequences
What happens if you side with Marcus?
Helping Marcus means accepting Isobel’s abduction and the refuge’s collapse. With the ward gone, the Shadow Curse reaches the inn, putting its residents, trader access, and multiple questlines at risk. Dammon’s availability can be lost, which may strand Karlach’s engine quest if he has not completed the relevant work.
