Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 launched on April 15, 2025, for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Larian Studios called it the game’s final major patch and the last one planned to introduce new content, aside from minor bug fixes. It added cross-play, Photo Mode, and a new subclass for each of the game’s 12 playable classes.
When did Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 come out?
Patch 8 was released on April 15, 2025. It is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, according to Larian Studios’ release announcement.

The date followed Larian’s November 27, 2024 announcement that the update would arrive the following year. That earlier Community Update #30 introduced the planned features but did not specify a day.
What did Patch 8 add?
Cross-play and cross-platform multiplayer
Patch 8 lets PC, Mac, Xbox, and PS5 players join multiplayer sessions together through the Larian Network. To play across platforms, connect your platform account to a Larian account and enable cross-play. In modded sessions, every player needs matching mod versions; third-party mods are not available on consoles. Larian explains the setup and requirements in its Patch 8 announcement.

Photo Mode
Photo Mode lets players pose and position party members, adjust camera and lens settings, and apply post-processing effects, frames, and stickers. Larian says it includes more than 300 stickers. On PC, press F9 to toggle the mode; on consoles, press both analog sticks. Party positioning and camera-angle changes are unavailable during dialogue and cinematic scenes. Twelve new subclasses
Each of Baldur’s Gate 3’s 12 existing playable classes received one subclass. The level at which the choice becomes available varies by class:

Other changes
The update also added split-screen play on Xbox Series S, updated the official modding toolkit, introduced Steam Trading Cards, and included bug fixes and other improvements. Larian’s release post describes Patch 8 as its final major game patch: beyond minor bug fixing, the studio said it would be the last patch to add new content. It also said there would be no new narrative content or significant changes to the story, Origin characters, or companions.
